Today I had my OB appt, they did a cervix check and I am already 1 cm dilated and 50% effaced!!!! I was sooo excited, even though I know its early, I just needed to know (or at least to feel) like the end is coming soon. Baby is low, she touched his/her head with her finger and it was not that far in. Now the mystery will be how long I will be at 1 cm or will I progress cm by cm, week by week like I did last time or will I be 1 cm for 2 weeks and then immediately go into labor like the last time. Or will it be completely different! At least I know there is progress, even though it doesn't truly indicate much. My gut says it won't be long though, another week or two max.

Congrats! When I was pregnant with Ava they checked me about 6 weeks ahead of time and I was 3 cm and 80% effaced. I kept thinking I'd have her early and I went all the way. I was actually kind of bummed :p

Well atleast you can get yourself prepared in the event that it really won't be that long Glad all went well. I can't believe how close some of you really are. I am getting there too, just have a little ways to hang out.

I have never gone past 37 weeks and I don't plan to start now!! No really, I know it could mean nothing (I was trying to explain to my mom that being dilated means everything and nothing all at once) especially since the nurse fully expected it being that this is my third child. But as I have mentioned numerous times - cause I am for sure this boards bitchy pregnant woman, LOL - I am feeling awful and ready for this to be over, so it was just nice to hear something rather than "locked up tighter than fort knox" which is what I heard last time. Who knows, I may make it to my due date, but at least I will have the false illusion that it could be any day

Yay for progression!!! I hope the baby stays in there for at least a couple more weeks to cook.

I still have a spinning baby in there. No way will I go into labor. If I do, I'll be very surprised.

I bet I am locked up tight LOL I tend to wait to dilate and efface until I am IN LABOR lol It's like 0-8cm in just hours. When I go, I go fast! I have had yet to be any cms dilated before 36 weeks, let alone after that! lol

I think at the next appointment I get to have a vag exam. I don't really want to but I think it's to check for GBS. I don't think I will be effaced, dilated or anything, but you never know.
