Thanks for the thoughts and prayers on our behalf.
The ultrasound today showed no improvement in baby Philip's kidneys. The fluid level in his right kidney increased from a little over 4 mm to about 6.5 mm and the left kidney level increased from 6 mm to a little over 8 mm. At his gestational age, anything over 10 mm is dangerous (meaning requiring surgery after birth), so we are still not looking at that scenario, thank goodness. He will be undergoing a renal ultrasound shortly after birth to check for blockages or structural abnormalities (the most common reasons for his condition) and for renal reflux. We'll also have to keep a close eye on his urinary output to be sure that his kidneys are functioning. There is really nothing that can be done between now and the birth, except to continue to pray for a good outcome.

Otherwise, Philip looked great. He's head down (which I already knew--feet in the ribs!) and he's measuring right on in every other area. He's also around 4.5 pounds (estimate, of course) I think he may be my biggest baby yet!

Sorry that the kidney report wasn't better, but we will continue to pray for a change in that between now and birth. Hoping it either clears on its own or is something that can be easily corrected.

I am sorry to hear about his kidneys, I hope that this can be something that can easily be fixed or resolve itself before he is born.

I'm sorry that the results weren't better this time around. I just said a prayer that everything works out and that he won't end up needing surgery.

I didn't realize there were issues with his kidneys. I hope that the levels don't increase, and I will pray they get better. I agree with Shannon- hopefully it is something that is correctable!

Sounds like he is growing well! And that he's head down!
