Any Braxton Hicks yet?
It is so weird how unexperienced i feel and this is my second child.
I have been having BH a lot and didnt know it until yesterday when my midwife told me that is what it is. My stomach gets hard a lot and i guess that is what they are.
I dont remember them with my first.

Re: Any Braxton Hicks yet?
Your uterus begins to contract around 6 weeks, but you usually won't begin to notice it until 20 weeks or later. Some people never notice BH at all. I have noticed the ctx earlier and earlier with each pgncy; that's common, since not only do you know what you're looking for, but your uterus and abdominal muscles are more lax after that first pgncy.

Re: Any Braxton Hicks yet?
I never recognized them when I was pg with Emily. No clue if I will this time around or not. I am just assuming that I haven't had any.

Re: Any Braxton Hicks yet?
I've had a few in the last 3 weeks. Mostly because I am nesting like crazy! I have been doing more work around the house in the last 3 weeks than I have in the 2 years we have lived here! I think DH is thankful for that. When I feel them, I just drink a glass of water and lay down.

Re: Any Braxton Hicks yet?
I had them so bad with each of my other pgs, I had to go to labor and delivery for monitoring! This time, not a one. Its really really odd. I am actually going to ask my dr about it. Its so funny, I spent the first part of my pregnancy worried that I would have PTL and be on bedrest again, and now I am starting to fear that this baby won't want to come out at all! I know that is strange but my mind does odd things when I am pg

Re: Any Braxton Hicks yet?
I meant to add something important in my post: if you are feeling a lot of BH or just more than usual, you can usually attribute that to dehydration. Even mild dehydration can cause contractions... usually they aren't a problem, but you should call your care provider if you drink a couple glasses of water and they are still persistent.
