I had my last official appt. this morning (only to schedule another for next week, blah!)

My OB wanted to make sure everything was going okay in there. First she did an u/s to measure my fluid and I am over 10, so that looked good. Measured the baby's head...9.89 cm! I pray it stays under 10cm!! She showed me the placenta and it is starting to get small amounts of calcification on it, which she said is normal for a full term pregnancy, but she will check it again next week.

Then she checked my cervix, still 2cm and 80% effaced. I asked her to strip my membranes...wow o wow, that was not very comfortable at ALL!!! Then she had me get a NST. The baby was asleep at first and not moving, then DH made me laugh and I was telling him to stop so I didn't mess up the test, but that got the baby moving, so it helped! I had three small ctx during it and the baby had good heartrate jumps.

So I have another appt on Tues. Here's hoping I don't have to go to that one! DH says we just need to stop scheduling these things, it is keeping the baby in there!

Hopefully the stripping helps get something moving for you! It did it with my 1st 2 pregnancies.

12/20 u/s 10 weeks ..babies doing great!!!
1/17/08--- IT’S A BOY AND A GIRL!!!

C-section set for June 27th!!! ( if the babies can wait that long)

Good Luck! I was the same way for my oldest son except I never even dilated to 1. I hope the stripping makes things go faster for you.

Good luck girl, I know it has to be frustrating to be overdue, but he/she has to come out eventually, right? Hopefully it will be sooner than you think!

I am glad that your apt. went well and that all is good! I am sorry that you had to go to a 40week apt., I hope that stripping your membrane moves things along. Hang in there!

Sounds like another good appt. Stripping is NOT fun, I do know that, lol. But I hope it works for you so you wont have to make it to your next appt.

I was hoping to find you had gone into labor . . . but it sounds like things are going well. My SIL had her membranes stripped and went into labor 2 days later. I had another friend who was overdue, not dilated at all, baby hadn't dropped . . . no sign of any contractions, and they told her she would likely need to be induced in another week or so . . . and she went into full blown labor 24 hrs later.

So . . . you never know!! Your little one will come out when he/she is ready . . .I hear this is one of many times you will have a difference of opinion with your new baby. I hope for your sake your little one changes his/her mind!
