I have to say that I had such high expectations for the first episode of Survivor: Micronesia (Fans vs. Favorites).
I received several emails from family and friends wondering #1, why I wasn’t selected to participate and #2, why they wasted valuable commercial time “hyping” up Johnny Fairplay (JFP) only to have him bale out of the game for personal reasons. I wonder how disappointed the executives at CBS were to see that unfold. Personally, I was surprised JFP was even chosen to compete. And for him to bow out of the game because he was missing a child that isn’t even born yet was slightly unbelievable in my opinion. Not to say he doesn’t have a child coming and that he may be slightly sympathetic to the fact; it just seemed uncharacteristic of him. I’m sure there was a method to his madness; I just can’t figure it out. Either way, I’m glad to see him gone. Jeff Probst mentioned that Survivor brought him back because he was the one everyone loved to hate and was always the center of conversation. Well, that was a huge let down!!
