OK, so my appt today didn't go so well, baby has not grown at all in the last 2 weeks, the blood pressure in the cord is high, baby is still breech, and of course we are dealing with my GD and high blood pressure, so the doc decided to put me on bedrest!
however, me being a first time mom, I'm not sure exactly what that means, do I really have to spend ALL day in bed? is sitting up ok.. or should I be laying down.. I'm very confused (and frustrated at this point). anybody else suffering from these restrictions?

Your Doctor should of given you more explicit instructions. In some cases its laying in bed on your left side, only getting up to us the bathroom/shower.

Other cases (like I had with my son) was to stay in bed, but I could could make myself something to eat etc.

Call the Doctor back and have them clarify!

i would call just to be 100%

i was on bed rest due to going into preterm labour 2 times ( i had her at 37 weeks) but i was aloud to get up now and then as well as shower.

I'd probably ask your doc for more specific details...but my bedrest included staying in bed 24/7. i was allowed to sit up, but for only a short period of time. And I was allowed up to shower and go to the bathroom.

I agree, call your doctor and ask what exactly he meant by it.

I agree with the others...call and get more instruction from the doctor. I don't know why they would send you away with such vague instructions to begin with. Bed rest can mean a variety of different things and it usually dependent on what your situation is. You kinda have a lot going on so I would guess they are going to try to be pretty strict with you and the bed rest BUT each doc is different so you never know just what activities yours will ok.

Sorry it's so rough right now! I hope that with all the bed rest your next appt is a little better! ((((hugs))))

I agree, just call the dr to clarify. My guess with the BP problems you are having it will be lying on you left side most of the time. KUP on what the dr says.
