Default Well, I'm timing

them. I've been awake since 4am & having pretty regular ctx. for over an hour now.
They aren't very painful, but they haven't let up yet. They are about 4 minutes apart - which seems awfully close, but they are mostly mild.
Paul has an appointment for work that's an hour & 15 minutes away. We're trying to decide if he needs to cancel or not.
Based on labor w/ my son, I would guess I've got a few hours before things get painful but I don't really want to bet on a long time & have hubby that far away.
Wheeee.
I feel silly. I hope this is it.
I'll keep you posted.

Called the Drs. office & the nurse sounded pretty serious - get to the hospital asap. I still feel like I have plenty of time, but we are on our way.
I probably won't get back to post until we are home. Good thoughts to you all, ladies!

Good luck! That's exactly what happened to me...contractions at 4-5 minutes apart, but nothing too painful...turned out to be 5cm...good idea to head in! I can't wait to hear all about it!

Thank you all for thinking of me.
Would you believe they had me there all day & sent me home at about 4:30!? THey checked me several times & I got different #'s than my last Dr. apt The highest was a 2 or maybe a little more.
My ctx. have stayed mostly mild but steadily 4 min apart. All Day!
Still going now.
We spent the evening getting the dog over to the inlaws & visiting w/ them & then bil & sil.
I need to go rest but I'm still wound up. Every time I think I could sleep a bigger ctx. happens.
Ah, waiting! I'll try to keep you informed unless we dash out the door.
Good thoughts to you all - I'm looking forward to catching up on what I've missed!

Sorry they sent you home Bel!

Your story sounds like how my own would have played out if I had gone in yesterday...the contx were great but I didn't end up going in since they never got worse and today I was only at 2 cm at my appt. I would have gone only to be sent home (and have done that in the past!)

Anyways, it's a good sign that they are continuing- picking up even- when you try to sleep. I bet it's the real deal for you and things are going to progress for you over night....hopefully you can get some rest, if not sleep, before it's time to head back in to the hospital! I'll be thinking of you!

Hi guys.
Situation here is the same - I slept off & on. Woke up w/ some stronger ctx. at 4:30 They have been steady since then - Still mostly mild & 4 min apart- a few strong ones. I got pretty upset & emotional about it earlier, feeling like I'm just going to be worn out by the time they get strong enough. So, after a good frustrated cry, I decided I'm going to ignore them until I can't talk through them at all. I've been cleaning the house & doing laundry & trying to just keep moving. If there isn't significant action by the time the kids have lunch at my parents we'll go back & pick them up.(my parents are near the hospital) If there's any decent activity we may go back to the hospital to get checked again - but they are still full so they won't keep me there (or induce me) unless I'm in true active labor. They did set me an apt. for induction on Monday am but it's call first so if it stays busy... yadda yadda... same drill.
The dog is staying w/ the IL's for now (they are 1.5 hrs from us & about 1 hr. form the hospital) I don't want to do that much driving again today or have Paul that far away. It's more involved because my parents are allergic to the dog...
So, crank up the labor vibes - the least that will happen is that I'll be worn out w/ a clean house!
