So Im of for my second u/s today, and my appt with the specialist to look at my little ones lung. Fingers crossed all is well. Im going in thinking positive, its hubbies bday today so that has to help with the good health vibes. I will keep you guys posted.

Well everything looks good except her left lung It looks like a problem called CCAM or Lung sequestration. So basically her lung has some tissue that decided to not follow the normal baby growing blueprints. I have to go for monthly ultrasounds (which is cool in a way cuz I get to see her alot more ) They will monitor it and if it grows in proportion with the rest of her then it shouldnt be a big problem and she will have to have surgery after she is born. Worst case scenario is the "mass" grows un-proportionally to the rest of her little chest cavity and it can put her at risk for heart failure. Most cases dont get there though. Best case scenario is the "mass" just disappears which can happen as well. She might have a healthy lung under the mass or it may be what her lower lung just formed into. So hubby and I are ltring to look at the positive and trying not to worry till the doc's start to worry.

Good luck, I know that is so scary! My youngest had an extremely irregular heartbeat in-utero, it was terrifying, we had to do several fetal echos and too many ultrasounds to count. Worst case scenario, at birth he was to be rushed via medical helicopter to Children's Hospital several miles away for emergency open heart surgery and then to wear a pacemaker for the rest of his life. By the grace of God or some other high power, the problem completely disappeared on its own before he was born and he seems to have no ill effects from it that we can detect. Through it all, my doctor kept saying that even though we need to be prepared for worst case, most babies are born healthy, so please remember that. She still has a long time in there to brew, don't underestimate that either!

HUGE HUGS!!!! I know it always sounds so scare when they give you all the info and the what if's. I truly commend you guys for looking at the positives.....it truly sounds really good and it sounds like they are going to keep you in good hands!!!! Keep us posted on how things progress!!!!
