Default is there a difference?

between mucus plug and bloody show?....i mean is one better to have then the other. does one mean more then the other? do they both regenerate? i mean i know im losing my plug and at times i may as well get a microscope, but i know times it too was tinged brown or pink or some color leading in that direction....but the BS is def not as much as the mucus plug...does that make sence? or maybe what i been seeing is plain ol cervical mucus i lost my full plug with my 3rd son. and the others i never paid this much attention to know if it was in pieces or whatnot...but to lose the whole thing i mean you absolutly cant miss that!...anyhow...thanks for the responses im off to google this while i can...

As I understand it, you can lose your mucus plug weeks before you have a baby. When you start having bloody show, it means baby is most definately on its way. But I could be wrong. I'd be interested to hear what everyone else says.

The mucous plug basically plugs the opening of the cervix. It can loosen and come out the day of or weeks before delivery, and be just the plug, or tinged with blood. Bloody show is where dialation is occuring, and usually does mean labor has started or is about to. I have heard of women having show a few days before delivery, but for me, I know if I see it, it is time and contractions usually follow ASAP. Hope that helps. Both are a sign of labor, and even if you do not have show, when the dr goes in there, you would see it on the gloves when they pull their hand out from checking.
