My nipples have been sore for the last month. Not my whole breast, just my nipples. I never had that before when I was pregnant. It makes me more nervous about nursing, it already can be painful but if im ALREADY sore good grief how bads it going to be later?
Anyone else have sore nipples?

Not just nipples but sore bbs in general! The kids elbowing me seems to hurt a whole lot more recently. I never had it at the beginning of pregnancy so I guess it's making up for lost time. LOL...I remember saying 'ouch' over and over again while DD latched on for the first month or two...not fun, but didn't last forever. I think she broke me in cause I didn't have any issues like that with DS...only mastitis a few times and clogged ducts with him. I'm hoping I'm still like that for when the time comes for this one!!

I've bf three kiddos -- and yes, it can be painful at first, but if you have a lactation consultant help you RIGHT AWAY, it is 1000x's better!! The first few days with my first were NOT great -- but after I had an appointment with an LC -- I don't think I had pain until my twins and I ended up w/mastitis as we were weaning them....
I breastfed my last baby so maybe thats why im sore this pregnancy? It just struck me as odd. And painful!
I personally had a bad experience with LC and that was part of the reason I ended up not BFing my daughter. With my son I refused help and did it on my own and everything went great! Im sure thats probably not the norm though..

Mine are sore, not terribly, but enough to notice it.
My experience w/ the lc's at the hospital was that you need one you get along with, If you don't hit it off - try to get a different one asap.
My nipples were sore for about a month this time, but it was from like 12-16 weeks. I thought it was odd because last time, my whole boobs were sore, but this time, my boobs were sore, and then only my nipples were sore for a while. And I didn't breastfeed last time.
I have that this time too, and I bf my first daughter too. My bb's in general have been MUCH more sore this time though.
I totally agree with pp, that if you don't like your LC to try a different one soon. If your style is different than theirs (some can be very extreme & annoying ) it just doesn't work well. I hope it works out for you better this time whatever you decide.
