Default Sooo miserable

Well, its 1:52am and Tristan is STILL awake being cranky. He's been up since 10 or so, and if tonight is anything like the past few nights he will be awake untill 4. I think its colic. This is something we dealt with with my daugher too, but this time I can't sleep during the day. I can't sleep EVER. On top of being soo exhausted it makes me cry, I have an aweful cold that has me feeling barely functional, and my step kids are here for the weekend.

Any good tips for dealing with colic? I'm not sure how much longer I can handle this. I'm an emotional mess. I've cut out all formula, didn't help, kept him awake during the day, didn't help, I try too keep things mellow when he's awake at night so he's not encouraged to think its party time.

I really need help. Or a night off. Anyone wanna babysit for a night? Lol. (j/k)

BIG HUGS girly!!! I am up cuz I can not sleep! I wish I could the only thing I can think of is to swaddle him really tight and rock him. I know Mackenzie only really sleeps well if she is "bound" / "swaddled" supper tight so she can not move her arms.

I hope you get some sleep!!! If I were closer we could take turns giving each other nights off. Hang in there girly!!!

Oh Jenn,
I'm so sorry you are miserable. My neighbor dealt with a major case of colic for months with her son. She swears by swaddling and white noise. That is really the only thing that worked with her son and she tried everything. There is a CD they played over and over for him for months and they is the only thing that soothed him so that he could sleep. It's called "The Happiest Baby On The Block" Here's the link to the book:
Amazon.com: The Happiest Baby on the Block: The New Way to Calm Crying and Help Your Baby Sleep Longer: Harvey Karp: Books
Here's the CD
Amazon.com: The Happiest Baby on the Block New "Super Soothing" Calming Sounds CD (now ... with 5 great sounds!): Dr. Harvey Karp: Music
I bet you can find these at your local book store. Also they make a DVD if you do not have time to read a book. So, maybe this will help in your case. Also, have you tired a swing? That might also help. Good luck and I hope you get some relief soon!! Big hugs!!

Big Hugs!! I remember being that miserable with ds. I swear, I don't think he slept for the first year of his life!! If you think it's colic, I think there is something called Gripe Water that they say works for fussy babies. Maybe try that?
Hopefully he realizes sleep is a good thing soon!

I hope some of the suggestions above are helpful! I can't imagine how exhausted and frustrated you are! We swear by white noise and swaddling here, but fortunately haven't dealt with colic.

Is there anyone around that can come over to your house and give you a break??
