So Pissed... Vent

Ok, so since about 2:30 yesterday, I've been having contractions, pretty painful, but not too close together. Lying down, drinking water, nothing is helping. Because it was a Saturday I called my doctors answering service to get in touch with her, to see what she wanted me to do. I never received a call back from anyone. I have called several times since then, and still have not received a call back!
To top that off, my hospital says they wont admit me, or even check me out, until I can get instructions from my doctor!
I'm so pissed off, and so upset! Its really frustrating, because if Emily were born now, she would be a preemie, and no body seems to care! I just dont know what to do, and I cant get in touch with my doctor for any advice! Why doesnt anybody who's in a position to help out seem to care?

I would just show up at the hospital...I mean what are they going to do? Turn you away? I hope not!

Uh, they can't turn you away. I would show up anyway. Screw your Doctor.

I always had those issues with my OBs office. I would call and leave about 10 messages for the nurses (who NEVER seem to answer a telephone) and would never get a call back. Try calling the nurses line the minute the office opens. That's the only time I ever was lucky enough to have someone actually call me back..and that was still almost an hour later.

EEEE....sorry you hare not getting the support you need. I would for sure go to the hospital.....they HAVE to help you....I am not sure how they can not....that seems very odd to me. I wish you all the best. Please kup.

I would be very upset too! I think you should just go in and INSIST that they check you. Tell them you tried to contact your doctor but they would not call you back. Then, the next time you talk to your doctor you need to complain BIG TIME about the on call nurse not calling you back!!

That is absolutely horrible. I'm so sorry. The other ladies have some great advice, and then I would give your Dr's office holy heck tomorrow. (((hugs))) hope everything turns out just fine.

awwww... that sort of sucks. I mean you should go to the hospital at least to see if you neeed fluids. I mean as long as you contractions arent constant then they are probably right... your not in active labor. You would know if you were in active labor. 2/12 minutes to 5 minutes apart for about an hour.... caontinuing...active labor...
