Default So... have you picked out a name/ or names?

I was just wondering id you all picked out a name.... (i see a lot of you have) And if you dont know the sex do you have a name picked out for each sex?

ALso, if you have name? Are you telling people? I have a name for my baby boy.... BUT ... I am not really over the top sharing with people. I mean dh has told a few people... and I guess I have too..... The thing is with sharing the name prior to birth...people feel it is okay to critize the name. The name we picked out. I ABSOLUTELY love. And dh agreed nicely... BUT he told his sister and her family...and they had different feelings. SO now dh is on the fence about the name. ALthough last night he did call the baby by the name. SO.. i think we are decided. I am just not really sharing just yet. lol I mean I think before the birth people feel it is okay to give their opinion... and give you the names they like for you. After the baby is born... they are just like aww that is a nice name. So, if you share before sometimes you are double guessing yourself. kwim?

SO, we have a name... but MUMS the word

Oh I so agree with you...everyone hated the name Charlton when we picked it out for our ds...but it is just perfect and fits him in every way! As for Emersyn most people have mixed feelings about it...I guess we really don't care. And if she happens to be a he then the name will be Creighton

We don't have a name and I feel horribly guilty about it. We have known what we are having for 2 months and still don't have one. We had Andrew's name a day after my big ultrasound.

I get what you are saying about people- it kills me that people think the name is fair game before the child is born. That is just one of those situations in life that you have to lie. My friend just named her baby girl Avery, and I personally don't care for that name, but told her it was "cute" or "pretty" or something when she told me that was going to be the name. She and husband went over tons of names and that's the name they came up with. What business is it of mine? And why on earth should I think it's my place to say I don't like that name. For all I know they don't like the name Andrew, but who cares?

I'm pretty set on Tatum. Other names on my list were: Lainie, Macie, Scarlett, Tallulah & Lilah. If the baby happens to be a boy, I like: Brayden, Zane, Donovan, Griffin & Harrison.

I've been telling a few people my name, but there have been many pregnancy announcements among people I know, so I've decided to remain hush-hush about it. Everyone has loved the name so I'm afraid someone is going to steal it.

We are definitely set on a boy name -- still "lingering" around on a girl name. We've never, EVER had this much trouble coming up with a name before....but, since we already have three, I guess maybe we're being too picky with what name goes with what we already have?!?!

We just haven't shared because we don't know the sex of baby -- and it will make it more fun to "announce" to everyone when our little one is here....

Still no final decision yet. I've been thinking about it, but not stressing. I should bring it up again with DH tho. I think if I feel strongly enough about any name, he'll go for it

We have a name picked out, but honestly, I'm second guessing it. I really like the name Caitlin, I'm just not sure it's the perfect name. I really don't know why I'm having so much trouble with it, With my son, I knew right away, but with this one, I'm just constantly going through names.

We are set.....and have not had much friction for it but it would not really matter to us. We had a HUGE issue finding a name we both loved and now that we have there is no going back....LOL. My DH is VERY picky and the funny thing was we could ONLY find girl names we both liked....we never did find ONE single boy name we agreed on...he fact he could not find one he like at all.....so must have been in the stars we were destine to have a girl.

I hear ya on the criticizing. We have her named picked out and it is going to be Kohen and most people have the reaction of...Kohen, where did that come from?? Isn't that a boy name and etc. I love it when people actually think they have the right to rename your baby. For example, hum Kohen...how about you name the baby.... I'm like whatever. We love the name Kohen, it's already her name SO keep your opinions to yourself. We're the parents, she's our baby and yes, we get to pick out the name.

OMGosh....yes!!! Why do people insist on this?!?! That's where we've learned our lesson...we just keep it mum!! They insist that even though you are set on a name -- they think they have a better one and that they NEED to be right about it!! Eep...how frustrating!!

The only name we both agree on right now is Kaitlyn. We both really like the name, but aren't 100% sure yet. With my first dd, we had a couple of names in mind, but both liked Rachel the best. I just wanted to see her first and make sure it really seemed to fit. Last time we told everyone the name beforehand. This time we're not telling anyone IRL until she's born and named!

We do have a name picked out and have told people. We love the name and I honestly dont care what anyone thinks. If anyone says anything negative about it I let them know that the name is not up for debate, it IS his name and we LOVE it. The only person that said anything slightly negative to us was my dad he said "I dont know about that name..." I told him it IS his name and we LOVE it. He shut right up and didnt say another word. lol
If anyone is rude to me I am not afraid to let them know how I feel and that they are being rude.

I've been very fortunate with my names, although over Christmas my uncle tried to push some names on me. Most people really like Natalie Grace. It would have been Noah Patrick for a boy.

We've never told anyone(either than online friends) of any of our kids' names prior to them being born. We do get a lot of suggestions tossed at us...and when one of the suggestions happens to be the name we're planning on using, someone has a comment about why they don't like it, or why we shouldn't use it...so we keep our mouths shut. After the birth, they don't say a thing...and goodness, if they did, they'd get a mouthful. I'm the one who went through the pain of bringing them into the world, I should have some sort of honour in naming them! THat being said, we're considering David...it's the only boys name that we can agree on...the middle name is most likely Christopher though.

Yeah, we got that a lot this time around, saying it wasn't a real name. But whatever, we LOVE the name! When I was pg with my ds, my brother insisted that we were naming our son a "dog's" name! Ticked me off! If we were having another boy it would have been Jasper Reid. We didn't get a lot of great feedback on that name either. But we really don't care. I wish we could have not told anyone, but everyone in my family and dh's gets seriously mad if you leave them out of anything. SO nosy, lol. So we ended up telling them and just listened to some negative feedback (although it wasn't all bad by any means), and they all eventually got over it once they realized we weren't changing our minds. My dh's uncle asked if she came out really big would we name her Sequoia instead, like she is a TREE!!! I think if we ever have another one, we'll just tell them we haven't decided yet and see how that goes. I'm tired of telling people and then listening to them try and talk us into something else.
Oh and I would never tell someone I didn't love their name. We had some friends who had a little girl the same time we had our ds and they had decided on the name Penelope. The whole time they were pg I kept thinking it was such a horrible name, but told them it was cute. But now I can't imagine her as anything else and have actually fallen in love with the name.

We just kinda have to wing it when we get there I guess, LOL - since we don;t find out gender, we wait to see the baby first.
Yeah, we get some remarks and critical comments from our names, they aren't exactly the norm. But, we tell everyone once we've named the baby, so they just have to get over it.

Well we finally decided Many friends told us not to tell because people would criticize... but I don't care I just say "really you don't like it? Well thank God he is our son, and we love it" well the name is Leo, the middle name will be my maiden name.

We have a boy name that we like really well. We have a front-runner for a girl name, but we're not quite sure it's the one - so we are keeping at it. I'll tell you guys when we get a little closer - My husband is starting to spend more time talking about potential names, so maybe we'll find a girl name that really works for us soon.
My mil was here yesterday & brought a list of names she had though of - but they were all boys names! She said girl names are hard. I have to agree.
