Scared of Labor and Delivery

Is anyone else dreading labor? I am absolutely petrified at this point. Although I am uncomfortable, I would like to put off the inevitable for as long as possible. I know the pain is going to be excrutiating and I'm afraid I won't have time to get an epidural (last pregnancies went super quick.) I just wish they could knock me out, and I can wake up and be presented w/ the new baby lol.

im right there with you girl.....i've only had 1 epidural out of my 4 previous births. i plan to use the epidural again but to my knowledge they dont do them after 5 cm here....im at a 2 as of last wed and with this being #5 i do dialate quikly....hopefully you get to the hospital early and you get one....its all overwith before you know it and when holding the baby you forget it all

ah i know it is a scary thing.... i dont get too scared of the whole evolution..... ALthough if i find out i need a csection i will be a little scared.... It should go fine for you... good luck. We are all in the same boat... it will be over soon.

I am EXTREAMLY scared too!!! HOLY MAN.... I have moments of panic and then moments of hurry up and start already.....the panic is being pushed back FAST by the uncomfeeness!!!

yes the thought of c-section scares me more i think.. i'd much rather deliver vaginally....i dont think i'd have much help if i delivered by section

and with the move we just did i still dont feel comfortable with my daughter walking to and from school....the boys bus picks them up and drops them off right across the street. its so convenient

my husband will be taking time off but i dont think he ever carried the full load of the house lol not even with my TR lol.....i still got up when i wasnt sapposed to kwim....

I agree with so many of you re the c section possibility. My epidural never takes very well, also. So, I already told my doc if I have to have a section he better be putting me to sleep! I don't want to be awake while people are cutting me open! Even if I couldn't see it i am too visual and that's all i'd be thinking about. Last time I gave birth they had to redo the epi 3 times......i hope i don't get the same anesthesiologist.

I'm much less scared this time than before. There are times when I"m actually pretty psyched up for it & feel like it will go well. Of course, then I have moments when I am so worried that something will go wrong. My what a roller coaster!

I think since I have had both types of deliveries I'm not quite so scared this time around. Now, once I start feeling painful contractions that might be a different story. I'm just really excited right now!!!
