Does anyone know all the lyrics for this nursery rhyme? My kids want me to sing it to their baby doll, but I get stuck. That and 'Round and 'Round the Mulberry Bush. TV shows don't use the original words for these songs anymore so sometimes it's hard to remember! What nursery rhymes do you have a hard time remembering all the words to?

I'm an English major, and we have discussed in class the origins of a lot of nursery rhymes. Did you know that many are about murders and diseases? Like the link above says, "Ring around the rosie" is about the bubonic plague! "And we all fall down" is about dying! Creepy, huh?

that is cool! I love learning where sayings and stories originate, thanks for the link!! I always wanted to know where "rock a bye baby" came from because I think the ending is so creepy (I changed it to "mom will catch baby cradle and all" because I didn't like the idea that the baby fell!)
