My husband got not one but TWO job offers yesterday! He accepted the one and it looks like we are moving to Kansas! The job is in Topeka and we would prefer to move to Lawrence, but its a matter of finding housing. They want him to start May 27th.

Has anyone ever moved over 1200 miles with a newborn? After a CS?

I didn't sleep well last night. All I could do (besides get up and pee) was make lists in my head. Sigh....

We are getting two estimates from movers on Monday. The sticking point still is how much the firm is going to pay to move us. They gave us a figure and I don't think its enough. We will have to come up with the difference and with my husband being out of work 12 weeks and us having to liquidate his 401k in order to get me Medicaid, I don't know what we are going to do. On top of getting a deposit together for a new place to rent. Sigh....so this has me stressed.

Congrats on your hubby get 2 job offers!! That is wonderful news!!! So good to hear he accepted one of the jobs!!! That has got to be the 1st huge weight lifted. I know there are some ladies on here that can offer advice on moving with a newborn. I'm not one of them so I can not offer any advice on that, but I will be sending positive thoughts and prayers your way!! It will all work out. Good luck on the moving estimates. Try not to stress....you will get through this and you guys will be back on your feet in no time!!!Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Anne! What a relief that must be for you!! Not fabulous timing but I'm sure still a relief. It will all work out. Tell DH to keep at the company to fully cover your moving expenses.

That's excellent that he got the job offers! On the moving front, I have moved 79 times in my life, but the furthest I moved with a newborn was 10 miles, so no advice to offer. While we were moving with DD, though, my dad watched Kaytana while I moved my smaller things, and I watched while the men did all the heavier work. I hope the move and everything goes smoothly for you!

Wow! Congrats Anne! That is so wonderful. Kansas is beautiful, especially Lawrence. My dad is from Kansas and we go back every summer to visit. A few of his friends live in Lawrence so we take day trips there. I've always thought it would be a great place to raise a family. Don't have much advice to offer though. Good luck! Hope the company will cover your expenses!
