Olivia Pearl was born at 12:39am on May 7th!!! This is the most wonderful feeling in the world. After my water broke early on May 6th we made our way to the hospital and sure enough my membranes had ruptured and we were admitted. I wasn't really feeling the contractions I was having, but finally ended up getting my epidural at around 4:00pm. Tried to rest into the evening, but I was too excited. Finally at around 10:30pm, I started to feel really strong contractions and after hitting the epidural button a couple times with no effect on the pain, the nurse checked me and I was 10cm and ready to push. We pushed for about 20 minutes and they called the doctor and we had to wait another 20 minutes for him to get to the hospital. Once the doctor was there I pushed through about 6 contractions and she was born!
Seeing her for the first time was incredible and I just can't stop staring at her. She is 8 pounds 10 ounces and 21 inches long and has a full head of black hair! I'll post pictures as soon as we get them uploaded.
Congratulations!!! What a wonderful birth story. I love her name too. I can't wait to see your pictures. Hope you have a quick recovery. Congrats again, it's so exciting!!!
