Default Oh bloody nipples...

So I know I totally need to update everyone on our little man being born (I couldn't access this page in the hospital! Bah!), but now I have a question.

Does anyone have good advice about bloody nipples with breastfeeding? I was really sore with my daughter, but never experienced this... I know my body just needs to get used to nursing again, but what can I do to help it along? I haven't found any helpful information.

I totally thought lanolin would help, but the lactation specialist at the hospital said to avoid it?! What? I've never heard of that. Have you??

Thanks!!

The only thing I've found that works is Lanolin. It's worth it to try once to see if it helps. Also, my nipples were really sore until I had a Lactation Consultant help with her latch. That helped tremendously!

Thanks, Brandi! I've been using the Lanolin despite what I was told just because it was the only thing that helped last time--I'm a rebel, I know. hehe I also had the lactation consultant check his latch about 20 times before I left the hospital, so I know we're good there!
