Icon5 Odd question....

Ok....this is probably another thing that is just me.....LOL.....I seem to have lots of them.

I have this weird thing happening on my back and I wanted to know if anyone else is having it or if I am truly a strange one.....I have noticed this last bit I that I have scratches / small sections of skin that seem to go missing so it stings (raw open wound...but not deep or bleeding). It happened when I noticed instead of finding it after the fact last night. I was laying in bed trying to sleep and all of a sudden I felt like something scratched me....I touched my back and it hurt so bad I got up and looked in the mirror and found that a strip of skin was missing (about stretch mark wide and 1/2 an inch long) I know its not big but its raw and sure hurts….holy man....it was just an open raw section. It had nothing in it and I check the bed out and there was nothing there that could have done this.

Then today I felt the twinge of pain again and I looked in the mirror and a second spot this time round right on my spine was missing skin. Its small but dang does it hurt. My back was not touching anything at this time....I am sooo confused as to what is happening.

Has anyone had this? Could the skin on my back be really dry and not able to starch now? (It does not look or feel like it is) It does not feel tight but maybe with my belly growing its putting more stress on the skin then my back can handle?

I am truly lost.....I have always wondered where these scratches / patches came from and this last day was the first time I have noticed when it actually happened. I am going to ask the doc but thought I would check with you ladies.

Thanks for your input and advise.....I know this is an odd one.....LOL.

It sounds like it could just be stretching, but I have never heard of it. Sorry-I am sure that it hurts!

Wow, that is odd! I'm sorry you are getting so many oddball symptoms. I hope the Dr. can shed some light on this one.

You do seem to get those oddball symptoms....It kind of sounds like stretch marks/stretching -- but I've never heard of it and don't think that they are painful, as much as they are itchy?!?!

Good luck....hoping it is nothing and your doctor has heard of it before!

Yikes! That sounds pretty scary Amanda. I don't have any idea of what it could be. I'd definately call your doctor tomorrow. Keep us updated!

That is strange.... I got a peice of skin missing sorta like that, but figured it was caused by my underwire. Maybe if your doctor doesn't know a dermatologist would?
