My rant for today

Why in the world would they make a preggo fast for soooo long for this stupid glucose test?!?! It had to have been a man who devised the test. Any person who has been pregnant and known how crucial every single meal is, would not withold food from another preggo. I will fully admit I get CRANKY when I don't eat...it is 1000 times worse now that I'm pregnant. All my dreams last night were about food! Then I wake up this morning and I can't even drink water?!?! Even my dog seems to be taunting me! She's sitting there staring at me as she so happily chews on her doggy treat. I am hormonal and I am hungry...not a good combination.

And that concludes my rant from the soapbox. I'll get down now...

And you can bet that as soon as my test is over, I'm headed to Red Robin and I am going to stuff myself

That sucks! I only had to fast for maybe 2 hours, no water for 1 hour prior. Good luck and eat well after the test!

So odd how some of us have to fast -- and some don't?!?!

I headed out as soon as I was done and got some breakfast, as well!! Hope you are done and everything went well!! Be sure to keep us posted!!

When I had my 3 hour, I couldn't eat or drink anything past midnight. sooo I know how you feel!!! and I'm crabby about not eatting till this day and I'm almost 41 weeks. Go grab a big huge buger after the app. good luck on it!!!!

What time is/was your appt for? I hope it was first thing this morning. I just couldn't eat past midnight and only water in the morning... Go celebrate afterwards...enjoy yourself!!

I totally, totally agree with you. My Dr. told me to eat a good dinner at about 7:30 and then not eat anything else until after the glucose test (at 8am the next morning). I was MISERABLE. I couldn't even sleep all night b/c my tummy was rumbling and I was starving. There has got to be a better way to test for this. You can bet if men were the ones getting pregnant, this technology would be updated way more quickly. Ridiculous!!!!! I hope you have gotten to eat by now.

Yuck! I hate that.
I have heard that some dr. offices say you have to fast.
Mine lets you eat but only certain things. I hope that the time goes by quickly for you so you can get some food!

I think it's weird how different places do the test differently. I wasn't given any restrictions at all and had my usual breakfast before I went in for the test. I asked the nurse if that was ok and she said that was fine.
