Default On my feet all day at work

Does anyone else have a job that has them standing most of the time??? I'm a restaurant mgr so I'm standing or moving around for most of the day and it's starting to get to me. Since I was off the yesterday and today I realized that I felt pretty good today(until I went grocery shopping). When I get home from work my legs and back just ache beyond belief. My boss is very understanding and lets me rest in her office when I need to (she has a very nice couch) but it doesn't seem to be enough.

Any suggestions.

Jamie

I can't stand on my feet for too long or else I faint due to low blood pressure and low blood sugar. Even if I didn't have that problem, being pregnant and standing on my feet all day would be horrible. I admire you!

All I can think of is being more consistent with taking breaks. Maybe the last 5 minutes an hour just sit down. Hopefully you will find something that works well for you!

Make sure you take lots of breaks and rest. I know it's hard cause you have to work but I had that same problem and ended up getting so swollen I couldn't stand even if I wanted to....

Please try and take care of yourself and sit as much as possible. You're a tough one, there's no way I could stand all day at this point.

I gave up my job as a waitress and took less money as a receptionist in a Dr.'s office. I feel remarkably better. I knew it would only get worse (although everyone says pregnant waitresses get great tips lol)

Oh, I feel for you - that kind of work is tiring even when you're not pg. Hope you can rest often! I know how hard it can be to get the break when you need it. Maybe try to think of it as a good time to delegate some of your more active duties?

I work in food service. Somethings I do to help are drink lots of water (helps with the swelling), put my feet up whenever possible, which unfortunately is not very often. There are belly supports out there too. I may get one next month, just to ease the front "load". Oh and nothing beats soaking the tootsies in warmish hot water and epsom salts and getting a nice foot massage.

EEE....thats horrible. I could not imagine doing that now. I use to work in a restaurant and a bar when I was younger. It was hard to do not being PG......sorry I really do not have any suggestions other then really good shoes, good belly belt, lots of breaks and lots of water. Good luck girly.
