Default L&D memories....

So my sis was reminding me about the first time I was in L&D, she made a comment that I've gotta share!
I had been in labor most of the night, and hadn't had anything for pain yet, and she walked in and the first thing she said was "Anna had a baby and it's head popped off" What a nutbag. She's banned from this L&D!
Then, when I was getting my epidural, the nurse said, which hurts worse, the epi, or the contractions? I would have decked her if I could have.
Anyone else had crazy things said to you during labor? Those who have been through it, I mean?

Lol. The only thing for me was that Hubby kept telling me to calm down and breathe. I don't know why,but that made me crazy. I yelled at him to shut up, he didn't know what he was talking about. He was like "The nurses keep telling you the same thing" I said, "I can't yell at them, they're strangers."

Oh, and when DH asked if he could go call people to let them know I was in labor i told him he had better not leave me (you have to call from outside the room). Then, when I got my epi, he asked again, and I was like.. sure... i don't care... lol.

I also told the anestesiologist that i was dying and he needed to please, please help me. He was laughing at me.

With DD, I had an excess of amniotic fluid and every single person that entered the room was like WOW, what a lake. They changed my sheets and pads several times before I got my epi. I was starting to get embarrassed. Even the nurse had said she had never seen that much fluid. Well, just when we thought it was about all gone I sat up to get my epi and DH was in front of me and gush another huge pool came out and soaked his shoes. It sounds like a water balloon hitting the floor. Then the nurse started paging housecleaning. So, I guess I was the messy one on the L&D floor that night.

When I was in labor w/my first, after I got the head out, my DH came up beside me and was telling me how wonderful I did....

Then, when the OB said it was time to push again and get the shoulders/body out -- DH kind of laughed. I didn't realize why...until later he told me that he thought the head was the whole baby! I don't know if he just didn't realize how much baby there was in there -- he obviously didn't pay attention to what our first child looked like after he came out!!

Lol Anna you're a nutbag! She got the head pushed out and asked the doctor, "is it a boy or a girl?" The doctor started laughing and said, "I can't tell by the ears!"

Now that I'm actually awake, I remembered another....My DD had her legs crossed during the U/S, so I didn't know for sure until birth that she was a girl, although I was convinced that she was.
Her head came out and I asked is it a girl, and the Dr said "I don't know, I can't tell by the ears!"
But thankfully she was a girl, because that is what I had prepared for!
