I had a trip to L & D, too.

First off, all is fine & I'm nowhere near labor.
I was feeling really achy all day on Friday (Like if I stood up for 10 min. I couldn't think straight) Then around 3 my back started hurting in the kidney area. By 5:00 it was terrible pain & we called the ob answering service. The Dr. who called back had me come in to the ER & they sent me right up to L&D. They put me in the triage room & did a urine sample & checked my cervix.The Dr. took a sample for a ffp test, but then decided she didn't think it was necessary to send it in - especially after they did the lab work on the urine.
I had an infection (kidney or urinary) So, they moved me to a private room & set me up w/ fluids & IV antibiotics. She wanted to run the antibiotics for 24 hours & by the time they got that all set up it was around 11:00pm. By then I was feeling much better. So it was weird to be staying there when I was feeling pretty good. All the nurses were marvelous! They were wonderful when I was there to have Max & just as wonderful this time. They monitored the baby several times & everything looked fine. They finally let me go home today - I had to wait around for a couple hours for the Dr. to see me & write a prescription for the oral antibiotics. When she came in she said she was trying to get to me, but the babies kept coming out.

My parents watched the kids for the first night. & Paul stayed w/ me till it got late. He picked them up & brought them to visit me on Sat. One funny thing about being there all weekend was hearing the newborns cry - it made me so eager to have my little one here - but I know it's not time yet - so exciting, though!!
The only down side was not getting anything done this weekend, but everything tuned out for the best. I'm feeling really achy again tonight but after not having much activity for a couple days I'm not too surprised.
I guess we'll try to have a pretty easy-going week ahead.

Oh man, how scary. But I am so glad you took care of it so quickly. Those infections can be dangerous if not treated quickly. Very glad they took such good care of you at the hospital. I'm happy you're home safe. Now rest up and feel better!!

There sure have been a lot of scares going on around here. My theory is it is always better to have it checked out than to not. Glad you went it and had everything checked out. I bet you did get eager hearing all of the newborns cry. That stinks you had an infection, but it sounds like they took great care of you. Hope you are feeling better and your infection clears up soon.

EEEE>....I am soooo glad things are ok!!! Sorry about the infection thats horrible but glad you got it looked after so quickly. Hope you feel like your self again soon!!!! REST LOTS and DRINK lots of fluids!!!

Glad to hear that all is good with you and the baby!

Sorry about the infection and the missed weekend- but it's good that you found out what the problem was, that they were great with you in the hospital, and everything is settled down now- and you are back home with the baby still waiting patiently for the right time to be born!

So glad that everything looked good -- sorry that you had to go through that, though!! Yep, if ever in doubt for any reason, I am one that will go in, as well. Definitely better to be safe than sorry....
