Icon9 I feel horrible

I haven't been feeling so great these past few days, turns out I have bronchitis (sp?). My chest feels all heavy and I have a horrible cough. I go to see my midwife on Wednesday, but anyone have any ideas on how to feel better. I keep hearing different things. Some say more dairy, others say no dairy. Some say hot steam, others say cold steam. My head is whirling, not to mention hurting. I need some RELIEF!

I'd go to your doctor...you may need antibiotics... From what I understand.... dairy creates more mucous...so I would think you should stay away from dairy... I would definitely go to your GP though.. you don't want it to get worse...

Good Luck!

Oh, you poor thing. Here are some things that I do when I have that:

Vicks vapo rub-on the chest, throat & if you are having trouble breathing through your nose, a tiny dap on the end of your nose. Also, (sounds weird but it works) if you are coughing all night, put vicks on your feet and put warm socks on over them.

Chicken noodle soup, gatorade, hot tea, juice. As much "clear" fluid as you can take will help alot! If your throat hurts too badly, you can use popsicles.

Humidifier (we use warm steam) but I really think either will work.

Take nice warm/hot showers and breathe in that steamy air.

Do try to cut back on dairy as it does make more mucus.

You might want to call your regular Dr. as there may be something OTC that you can take that will help. Or they may need to prescribe you a med or inhaler.
((((hugs)))) and I hope you are feeling better very soon.
