How long should I wait?
I've been getting BH for the last 6 hours, and my stomach is mostly a hard ball, and I feel TONS or pressure on my cervix and rectum (tmi, sorry). I am drinking tons of water, and trying to keep my feet up as much as possible, but how long should I wait to do something like call the doctor? I have never gone into labor on my own (water broke, started pitocin) and never had figure it out. Help please...

Re: How long should I wait?
I can't really time them, it's mostly constant pain that will ease only when I sit down. This didn't happen with the others...

Re: How long should I wait?
My doctor said if you get 4 in an hour to give them a call. I get them a lot, and often its way more than 4 in an hour. I don't call, usually drinking water and laying down helps get them to stop. Although sometimes it takes a few hours for that to happen. BUT I don't call because I do get them a lot and I think mine are actual BH's.I had them a lot with ds. So you might want to give them a ring, just in case. It's always better safe than sorry. HUGS!!

Re: How long should I wait?
I would lie down for half an hour & if it doesn't stop call the Dr.
I know how you feel! Hope it lets up & you can relax.

Re: How long should I wait?
If you are at all concerned, call.
Worst case scenario is they check you at the hospital and send you home, maybe give you an IV w/ fluids.
You know your own body!! If you are feeling pain and pressure I would call!

Re: How long should I wait?
I agree...it's better to call in and at least talk to your doc or go in to get checked. Even with drinking all the fluids (make sure you tell them that you have already been doing this) you may still need fluids or something. It's better to be safe than sorry! Let us know what you find out...I'll be thinking of you!

Re: How long should I wait?
I'm sorry but with this being your third, I'd def. call, esp with the pressure. Sometimes women esp. ones that have labored before, will labor just like you are describing, and not relize what is going on till they have the pressure to push. Better safe than sorry. Please keep us posted.

Re: How long should I wait?
I agree with the other ladies... better safe then sorry... I"ve been feeling pressure and hard since month 5 - I don't think mine is BH - I think it's just my muscles trying to hold up my expanding uterus.. it's only when I stand or have been doing a lot of walking or housework..
Keep us posted.
