Default Hospital outfits--for us mommies

I know a few of you mentioned buying outfits to wear at the hospital. I really want to do this, as I hate seeing pics of me in all hospital nighties. And I feel better in "normal clothes." But I can't remember if they keep checking you "down there" or not. If so, do you buy nightgowns? I really like to wear the nursing tanks & comfy capris but if it is going to be a pain to get the pants off & on, maybe I'll look for a nursing tank dress/nightgown. What are you all doing?

I plan on leaving the hospital asap. Last time I left the morning after I had my baby. So I only need like 1 or 2 things, but just trying to be prepared.

Thanks for any and all recommendations!!

I plan on wearing comfortable yoga type pants and plain t-shirts. The only times they went "down there" after ds was born was to check how my scar was and to see how much I was bleeding. I probably won't buy any nightgowns or anything because that's not something I would wear much at home and I want to be able to wear whatever I bought again. I might go get one of those pj sets that has a button-up top, like old man pj's, lol.

oh yeah...they push on your stomach to make sure that the uterus is clamping down and then check on the flow...and check for hemorrhoids...all that fun stuff. At least this is all in the first day. I'm not wearing anything fancy while there...

If I recall, I think I was checked several hours after giving birth. After I got the okay to shower and etc I do not remember them checking me down there again. I do remember them pushing on my uterus/stomach a few times, but not checking the lower regions after I had showered and changed. I have one gown packed for the just in case and 2 sets of cami/capri pj's and some capri yoga pants. I think that should cover me:-)

I forgot about them checking your uterus and stuff, but my tummy is always sensitive, so I think what I had planned will work. Nighties and sundresses, for the most part, and a robe from home! I will also have IV's so I needed somthing I could get in and out of with the IVs in place, so I got a sundress with a halter top. It's got plenty of belly room for now, and I will still be able to wear it when I am back to normal size. I just hope they don't get ruined!

Thanks ladies. I can't believe I could actually forget something like that. So crazy how time erases those memories. Now the memory of the uterus "massaging" just came flooding back to me. Hee hee. Thanks for all the great ideas. Time for me to do some shopping.
