Alright ladies I need HONEST opinions on the name we are *thinking for our little boy, what do you think of

Carter James our last name begins with an F ......

I am not 100% sure about it ......

I think it's a good name! If you didn't want to call him Carter or James, you could always call him CJ. But I like Carter

I think it is awesome but I know how you feel. With Charlton I was never sold on the name...even after he was born, but my dh had told me long ago that he loved the name. Now the name is perfect for him and I love it! I felt the same way with Kaitlin. Her middle name is Korin and up until her birth I still wanted to name her Korin (pronounced like Corrine). McKenzie's name I have always loved. Now I am feeling the same way about Emersyn. In fact I practice calling McKenzie her name (it makes Kenz a little mad and might be giving her a complex haha) I think it is such an important decision that it is natural to second guess it!

But I think it is a wonderful, strong name!

I actually do like it! Generally, I don't reply to name threads if I don't like it, even if asked for an opinion, because then it becomes the name and I feel bad for ever opening my mouth (again, even if asked!). But I truly do like your name or I'd have kept my mouth shut It was briefly on our list, but I didn't feel it went with our last name that well.

I know how you feel about it not being the one. I think in many cases, it either WILL feel like the one, or something else will pop into your mind and you'll realize THAT is the one. We had a name we thought it would be for several months, but I was just never totally sold on it, and something else literally fell out of the sky that we thought was the "right" name. So, perhaps you will warm more, to it, or come up something else! But, I do like it regardless

Thanks ladies, I know, it is so important to me to pick a GOOD name I keep saying it, and writing it, but not TELLIng it to my family becuase that part is a suprise for them so I have not been able to get any real feedback

I love it! I obviously like the name Carter though since it's my DS's middle name. If we hadn't chosen to name DS after my DH's dad (who passed away long time ago) then he would have been Carter.
It sounds very strong to me and I am partical to strong male names.

I really like it! I used to watch a Carter James and he was the sweetest boy, so that's made me love the name even more. Carter is a handsome name that will really be able to grow with a boy. You can totally picture a baby Carter, a little Carter on a baseball team, Carter as a prom king or a Carter as a lawyer!

I really, really, really like it too. I totally agree with Carley, it fits all age groups and sounds great at each stage. Also, I like that you can't really shorten it (I'm not a huge fan of nn's), it's very easy to say, and it just sounds good. Great choice!

I agree with the rest. I like it. I'm partial to Carter too. My next door neighbor has a son that is the same age as DD and his name is Carter Wilson and he is so stinkin cute.
