Holy Nursing Contractions
Holy crap, I'm having the worst contractions when I nurse. I totally forgot about these and I feel like I'm in labor again. I was talking to my doc about them today and she said that with each birth they tend to get more painful. What is up with that?? I broke down last night and asked for some Motrin and I got another does earlier today. I wonder when they will stop?? Anyone else going through this???

Ouch! That doesn't sound like fun. I hope they go away soon for you! That's one thing I'm not looking forward too...luckily this is my first baby, so I hope they won't be too bad.

Re: Holy Nursing Contractions
I didn't feel them with ds1, but I didn't nurse exclusively, even right after he was born. I did feel them a lot with ds2, but this time around they were pretty intense. For me, they stopped by the time I was out of the hospital. Depending on how long you stay in, your uterus is almost the size it was before you got pregnant by the time you leave, so it shrinks pretty quickly.

Re: Holy Nursing Contractions
YES! I had them so bad this time! I don't remember them being as bad with ds, although I was only pumping for him so that's probably why. They were gone by day 4 though. Hope you don't have them too much longer!

Re: Holy Nursing Contractions
OMGosh....YES!! I forgot to mention these....but holy moly!! For me, they lasted about a week!! In the hospital, they kept asking if I needed anything, and I'd suck it up and say no -- but if asked again, I would definitely take something.

Re: Holy Nursing Contractions
Oh hell yeah. This time around they are quite intense. The good thing is that the contractions have gotten rid of the heavier flow and now I am already on light pink. Gotta love the trade off there. lol

Re: Holy Nursing Contractions
I'm not nursing, but I did get those horrible cramps after this little guy was born. They lasted about 4-5 days. So not fun. It's true what they say about them getting worse with each pregnancy because I didnt get them with my first DS, but I did get them with my last two and bad.

Oh yeah! I thought they were bad with #2...but omgoodness...horrible this time around. Lasted a good 4 days. At first I thought it was constipation...duh! Never occurred to me until it was happening usually while nursing... I'm glad they're done now!

Re: Holy Nursing Contractions
Yep here, too. They were gone after about 5 days, so then I could just focus on the sore nipples...

Ronna the flow thing is a perk. I'm already light pink too and that is so nice. The cramps are easing up some. We are waiting to get discharged and hopefully I'm hoping they are gone by tomorrow or the day after.

I remember mine were bad w/Kenz & I didn't stay on top of them pain med wise....this time they were awful but 'i was smart enough to stay on top of them. I alternated motrin and tylenol every 2 hrs.

Re: Holy Nursing Contractions
um.... YEAH! Holy cow, mine were so painful that I had to use my "labor breathing" to get through them. it's like labor in reverse. So not cool.
