Default Difficulty Sleeping - Pregnancy Pillow Advice

I'm having a really hard time sleeping... I'm normally a tummy sleeper (which obvoiusly stopped months ago).. I rotate from my left to my right side...but turning over requires a lot of effort (I'm pretty big for 61/2 months..people ask if I'm having twins!). Sometimes I wake up on my back (which I know is not good). My hips hurt if I lay on one side too long so I rotate. I also find my belly feels harder and I have more pressure during the day...I'm not sure if a pregnancy pillow will help with all this?? Any advice on pillows would be greatly appreciated.

I'm so sorry you are having problems, but I'm so happy you posted this too. I am having the roughest time sleeping too. I used to be a tummy sleeper too. This is my least favorite thing about pregnancy. I hope someone has some good recommendations. I have never bought a preggo pillow before and wasn't sure if they really work well or not.

I spent a whole $4 on a body pillow at K-mart. It made a big difference. I put it between my knees and up supporting my belly and chest and have done much better. Don't worry too much about sleeping on your back if you end up there, it happens naturally.

I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping 2 cos I'm a belly sleeper usually. My dh bought me a big pregnancy pillow and its comfy but when I need to turn over its a pain cos I've to stand up and turn the pillow over too so I don't use it anymore. I just use a small pillow between my knees and one under my bump. If you don't move around a lot trying to sleep the pregnancy pillow is probably a good idea for you but I always need to switch from side to side so it didn't work for me

Eep....I've been having the hardest time sleeping too. I think that each pregnancy has been like this though -- I chalk it up to getting our bodies ready for all night feeding sessions!

I do have a body pillow that (like Sarah) put between my knees and up under my belly and chest area. I'll admit that it worked at first -- but hasn't done much lately... :gaah So...I'm also waiting for suggestions...does anyone have one of those that actually wrap around you?!?!

i would love a body pillow. I have a very hard time sleeping too. Right now I'm using the multi-pillow stratagy, i just use a regular pillow for between my legs and under my belly, and one for my back or chest, depending, and one for my head. Lol. The pillows do help a whole lot for me, but try it with a regular one if you have extras laying around the house before you spend money on a special one.

I use 2 body pillows. One on each side. So one supports my back, and one supports my knees tummy and chest. When I roll over, the other one is right there. Pg. pillows are good, but over rated, b/c nothing really stops the turning from side to side, and like Aoife said they just get in the way, when you need to roll over. I'd try body pillows first.
