Icon8 On-call Doctors...

Are no help at all!! I had a horrible night. So my last thread was about a severe migraine. Which I went to the walk in clinic last night to get some help to deal with it. They gave me phenergan and Decadron (steroid which the dr. said was okay). So i took that about 8:30pm last night. About an hour to two hours after I took it i noticed I started getting pale. I wasn't feeling so great either, really weak and a faint feeling. But shrugged it off as just the anti-nausea meds. At 1:15am this morning I still was feeling icky, and i looked at my hand and it was completely white...and when i say white it was as white as rice...no pink on the pads of my fingers or pads...so I flipped the light on so my DH could see and he freaked out. I was completely pale, no pink on my lips, even my feet were white, no pink on the pads of my feet. I was still feeling the weak fainty feeling and didn't enjoy the feeling. So I called the clinic line and they gave you an option to the On-call Dr. So I called the on-call dr. just to find out if this is a normal side effect and that I am 20 weeks pregnant and need to know if this is not good. She was completely rude!!! I told her my symptoms, she asked why i took those and i said cuz i had a migraine, and that is what the Dr. at the walk in clinic gave me. She said "well I can't help you on the phone, it's not like i can see you. So if you think it's bad then you should just go back to the ER. But I can't help you, sorry." So I said fine and hung up on her. I was so mad. How rude of her I know it was after 1am but she is an on-call dr. she should expect those calls. And what if it was a horrible side effect that could cause major problems...??? GRRR. Sorry for venting but some Dr. are so idiotic.

I woke up today still feeling the same, i am pretty pale still but starting to get pink back in my lips and the pads of my hands. I am still feeling faintish, and weak so I called my own dr. and she said to stay home from work, get some rest, put your feet up and drink lots of fluids. If it isn't any better by early tomorrow call right away so she can see me. So there is my story...

On a good note:
I had another ultrasound today...the baby wasn't being very cooperative but she got the shot of the heart she needed and part of the profile, but the baby was on it's stomach so it was hard to get. However she was able to get the gender view again and this time the legs were spread wide to see. It's definitely 100% girl!!

I would have freaked to. I'm sorry she was so rude. I've had that same experience and found it pretty pointless to call the on call Dr's. I hope you start feeling better!

Sorry she was so rude. I have gotten that too though. They always say just go in if you feel you need to. It's like ummm isn't that what they pay you the big bucks for, too make decisions. Glad you got too see your princess again. Feel better soon.

I'm glad to hear you are doing a bit better. What a lousy response from the on call Dr. I hope you find out the cause of all that!
