Default Bras?

Okay ladies I need some help here as this is my first baby...

I have outgrown my bras once again. My chest is big to begin with (I started at 34D)... I am wearing a 36D now and I need a new one once again.

I have read that by 4-5 months you should be wearing a maternity bra. What is special about a maternity bra? Where do I buy one (remember I need one for a bigger girl and I need to be properly measured)?

I am planning on nursing so I have been warned by one friend that finding a nursing bra when you have big chest is impossible.

I look forward to hearing any advice!

I've never worn a maternity bra...I just went right into my nursing bras. I'm still in my regular ones right now as they still fit quite well. (After weaning my DS I shrank a LOT and had lots of room to the point where I was needing new ones, but never got any new ones! Now I don't have to!)

Uh, what does she mean by big chested? I am in a 42DD nursing bra right now, which is too small. They most certainly make larger size nursing bras.

Here is Medela site

Bravada site

Both carry large sizes. I have worn both nursing bras from them.

I'd go to a dept store to get properly measured and then buy online if possible. I'm just wearing my larger regular bras...I need all the support

I think with my first I bought nursing bras -- but with the twins I just stayed in my regular bras (bigger sizes). Personallly, I did NOT like nursing bras at all -- I need the support and they did not offer it.

I think I had purchased most of mine at JCPenney -- and you WILL be able to find much larger sizes than a 36D, no problem!!

The nursing bra I have upstairs is very supportive. I was fitted for it by the LC at the hospital my daughter was born in. I will have to look at the brand. I think its Medela.

lurking from DIMarch

Just wanted to give you another suggestions if your cup size is staying the same and you just need more room around, you can consider a bra clip extension. It hooks on both ends of you bra clip so you can get an exta 2-3 inch.
