birth story and pictures :)

ahhhhhhhhhhh...so my story....

Well it all started Thursday morning when my doc stripped my membranes. Nothing happened til 9pm that night...when contrax started coming 10minutes apart...that continued for the next 36 hours (!!!)...ugh.

Friday night I had had enough...we decided to go out for supper. We went to Olive Garden. Just before going I felt 'wet' I went to the bathroom to see quite a bit of blood. I put a pad on--at Olive Garden I constantly felt wet...so I went and checked and sure enough my pad was wet. Still they say 'if you wet a pad every hr its your water' I wet one maybe every THREE hours...talk about slow! Contrax were stll 10 min apart. I went to bed...and when I laid down it was confirmed it was my water, it just kept leaking. I'd stand--it would stop

Go to the bathroom--nothing would come out. I got a birthing ball and started bouncing on it. Thinking I must be 5cm or so on my own and sooooooo excited!!!! eventually I went back to bed but couldn't deal b/c I had to keep getting up and changing, more and more fluid was leaking. So I woke up dh and said I think I should go in. it was 2:30am. We decided I would go alone, he would stay with the children. I came in--every one was so nice they put me right in a labor room right aways. 4 tries for an IV later (and I'm sooooooo IV phobic!!!!!) ugh...anyway...they didn't check me til 5am...imagine how upset I was to hear my cervix was still funnelled....4cm at the end...ony 2cm up at the uterus. OH MY GOODNESS I could have started crying!!! 36 hours of steady hard contractons and I haven't changed a bit!!!! So I called dh and told him, he too was shocked. I decided to go for pit as it had now been a long time since my water broke. But I made the decision to go for hte epi. I was sooooooooooo nervous. I was doing this labor alone as dh was home with the children who were sleeping and I knew I didn't have the strength to do it alone so I went epi. It worked and I did NOT react YAY!!!!!!!!!!!! They gave me a very very low dose and even with that the epi man said I"m extremely sensitive to it. I felt paralyzed yet still had a lot of pain. soooo I needed more. Anyway....at 9am I was finally 4cm. Yikes gonna be a long day!!!! at noon I was checked and was 6cm! I called dh and we decided to get our babysitter since it was saturday once the children went for their naps. Dh literally walked in at 2:10pm and I didn't even look at him I said GET A NURSE I"M GOING TO PUKE! I was soooooooooooo nauseated...she came running in and checked me and I was complete!!! I couldn't believe it!!!!! I pushed for almost 50 minutes and had serious pain despite the epi. Finally out she came--what an incredible feeling!!!!! So she was born at 2:58pm...dh literally made it just in time!!!

Thanks for sharing the pics...your little one is beautiful. Look at those little feet. You look amazing for just having given birth. I looked like something out of a horror movie LOL

She's lovely. No wonder I keep hearing Natalie is so small, compared to her your new one looks like a first grader

OMGosh....congrats!!! She is sooooo adorable (as are all of your kiddos!). You look so proud (and waaaaaaay too good for just having a baby!!)

I'm so glad that things went so well for you -- other than the whole contractions for 36+ hours -- ugh!!

What a great story Janice and I love all the pics. You look awesome and the all of the kids are just too cute for world. I can not believe how much they all look alike including your newest little princess!!! I am so glad that you did not react to the epi!! TFS and I can not wait for more update on the new the family of 6:-) When are you coming home???

Oh Janice! She's SO adorable!! I'm glad you didn't have a reaction to the epi this time! All your kids do look alike. Beautiful!

Congratulations Janice & family! I am so happy for you! The pictures are all beautiful - what a wonderful family!
It sounds like the birth went well - What a long time for the ctx. to be going on! But it's great that you didn't react to the epidural. I can't imagine going through so much of that w/o hubby. I'm so glad he got there in time!

Hey, Are you going to tell us her name?

Wow! I'm so happy that all went well for you! I'm glad that everything went smoothly with the epi and all and that your DH made it in time! I agree, without my DH I doubt I could (or would want to!) go through the process without relief.

Now, look at you! I gotta say- one of the best lookin' Mommas post delivery I have seen! You look great! Definitely not how I'll be lookin' when it's all said and done!

She's a doll. And your other kids look just amazed- how wonderful! A big congratulations to your entire family! TFS your story and pics so quickly!
