Default Birth Control after baby

I was looking at the website of the new OB I am going to go to. They offer this procedure for BC. Has anyone heard of it?

omg i would never put the in my body! Id rather be cut! I will either have my tubes tied or have dh get a vesectomy. (I am leaning towards convincing dh) Until we decided i will use pills or condoms.

I've never heard of that type of BC, but it looks like a good alternative to a tubal. I am probably going to get the IUD at 4 months post-partem. I'm not 100% sure that I'm finished having kids yet. Plus, I have endo so I have to have the hormones in BC to keep that under control.

Never heard of it. I woulnt do it either. I have read, that being on birth control already increases your chances of having a tubal pregnany. That particular one seems to me, like it would increase it even more.

OH WOW....I have never heard of or seen that. I do not think I would do that either.....it just seems very intrusive. BUT I personally would never have an IUD either....I just do not like having objects inside like that.

We have never really used anything but the rhythm method (I know, I know....not 100%) but for us it works very well. I cannot take the pill as it makes me extremely sick and we both do not like condoms so it leaves us with very little options.

We are planning on two pregnancies (including this one) and then I am having a hysterectomy. WOOO HOOOOO!!!! I have server endo and I am truly tired of living with it....I have no idea what its like to not have pain everyday and I am counting the days down till I can get rid of all my girly bits. We will most likely have babies close together as I want to be done having kids by the time I am 35 and I will be 32 in May so it does not leave us lots of time.

So we are not going to overly worry about bc after the baby....we will be careful the first bit then if it happens GREAT....but if we need help again (we had to go on IF treatment for this PG) then we will do that 1 year or so after this little one arrives.

Good luck on your choice.....I hope you find something you are comfortable with and that works for your family....I think that’s the most important thing.

I have never heard of that either. I am considering the non-hormonal IUD after this one, but I really need to research it more. Hormones and I do not mix well at all, so I am hoping to find a different alternative. Good luck with your decision.

I have never heard of this before. It sounds interesting but I guess I believe in leaving my options open.

It took us over 16 months and finally IVF to get pregnant with this baby so DH and I have decided that we are not using any form of BC anymore.

If you are interested in this new procedure I would find out how many your office has performed and try to talk with a few people who have had it.

I am 42 years old and this is our last baby (baby#3). So permanent is what appeals to me. I don't want to spend money on BC or condoms.

I also don't like the hormones with BC or IUD. BC (which I took for a very short time 22 years ago) made me feel awful.

I also don't want anything hormonal that will interfer with breastfeeding. With the low dose BC you can still get pregnant.

It only took me 2 cycles to get pregnant with this baby. I told my husband next time if he looks at me I will get pregnant. LOL
