Things finally seem to be coming together here!
I had my 38 week OB appt today, and the NST was the best one yet! No ctx registered, and the baby's heartrate spiked every minute or so. GBS test came back negative, so that's one less worry during induction. I've been having ctx occasionally, like last night had them for 2 hours every 3 minutes, but dilation is still at 3 cm. No weight gain, but baby is definately growing still, I'm as big as a house. The doctor left the induction date at April 28th, but said she'd be surprised if I make it that long. Also said that's ok, because everyone has been informed and trained on my situation, and they are ready for me and all the special circumstances.
Here's something funny! As I was walking into the clinic, one of the janitors asked me if I was full term with twins! I guess cuz my body is so small and my belly is so huge, I just look like I'm carrying a lot more than I am. Everyone seems to be making comments now! I've even had quite a few people say I'm the cutest pregnant lady they've ever seen Awwww, I just wish I felt as cute as people seem to think I look! Even SO giggles at me saying I got the prego waddle down pat!

I also got my medicalert bracelet today, and I was surprised, but it's actually not too bad looking. I'm just not one to wear jewelry of any kind. It will take some getting used to!

SO picked up DD from school today since I was at the Dr's and had to laugh at her when I got home. She told him what I had said about discussing names. I picked out a name he would hate on purpose because he wouldn't talk names, and said that if he didn't come around soon the baby would get my last name. So DD said "mommy said if you don't start talking names with her she's going to give the baby our last name." LOL, she has a big mouth, but when he mentioned it to me, I said it was true. Suddenly, he wanted to talk names! He has 4 grown kids whose names all start with J, and his name starts with J, too, so he wanted a J name for this baby. He said he wants the first name to be Julian and the middle name to be Tamiko. I told him he could have Julian (he thinks "the ladies will like to call him that"), but nixed Tamiko. Don't know if you remember, but that's his stripper friends name, and he's not naming my baby after her, and she doesn't get a say on my baby's name either. If he wants to name a baby with her, he can go get her pregnant. But anyway, at least the subject has been discussed a little bit! Now I just need to find a middle name that he doesn't think is "too white" for a mixed baby LOL

Also, we finally got all the stuff we need! My dad is bringing me the bassinet, we got a carseat Monday, and today we got a bunch of stuff, actually, SO got it all, I didn't even know about it until I walked in the door and saw it all.
There was a playpen, crib bedding (crib is still on the way), bouncer seat, swing, more clothes and rcving blankets, and a bunch of stuff I haven't had time to go through yet! So all we still need is the dresser and changing table. Things seem to be coming together finally! Now I'm just tired from all the excitement today!

Yay I'm so glad things are comming together for you, and he finally decided to talk names (all though I'd be pissed about the stripper friend tie). I didn't have a middle name for ds till we we're in the hospital then it came to me. And my ex hated the name I picked out for ds, but wouldn't come up with anything better. So I told him a few weeks before he was born that if he did not come up with something better then his name was Braden, and as you can see he didn't. Anyway congrats on getting stuff around.

well congrats on all your progress so i totally understand where you are comming from re: names...i did post about my dilema a while ago...i think that while the name is nice the meaning behind it just is inconsiderate (sorry just my opinion) I think i have settled on Tiffany for this lil girl. Tiffany Gloria Grace. I asked him about it and he said its to white....im 1/2 black and 1/2 white so i took some offense, he is hispanic. and he is like your husband not communicating anything re: the nameing...i hope it doesnt turn out to be a huge argument in the delivery room

Oh, that makes me feel so much better (that I'm not the only one dealing with the "too white" name thing)! The race thing has been a toughie for me because I am Norwegian and he is Black. He keeps telling me the baby is all black, not Norwegian at all, and he wants him to be born really dark. It bothers me because it seems like he wishes the baby wasn't even related to me, and the baby's Norwegian roots should be ignored. I want either Leif or Clark for a middle name. Leif was a kid in my class when I was a kid who saved me from falling in the lake on a field trip (I know silly), and Clark was my grandpa's name. He says both are too white tho. It's so good to know someone else is dealing with a similar situation!
