Default Best thing ever!

So my dh and I just finished our prenatal classes. And the lady who taught it was a labor and delivery nurse. She gave us a lot of tips to help cope with labor. But the best thing she told us we to make "rice socks". Take 3 old socks and fill them with 1-2 cups of rice depending on size of socks. Then put 2 in the freezer and keep one to heat in the microwave. So I came home and made one. I heated it up in the microwave for 45 sec and then mix it around and put it on your back or hip or wherever you hurt. It is WONDERFUL. I heat it up right before bed and put it on my back while I am falling asleep and it helps so much. And it is safe because you dont have anything plugged in while you are sleeping, and it molds nicely to your body. I havent tried to put them in the freezer and use it as a cold pack yet. Just thought I would share that awesome tip.

I totally agree! We got one from the hospital when I had my 2nd b/c my arm swelled up really bad when the iv slipped a little in my arm. I was SOOOOOOO sore and the rice sock was the only thing that would help the pain. We still have it and use it. Its GREAT!!!

I agree, they also say that they come in handy when baby gets here, and gets a bit older. They start getting all the bumps and bruises, good boo boo buddies.

I've got one of those! (Except I think mine has dried corn in it. Works just the same.) And I absolutely LOVE it! I'm totally packing it in my hospital bag!

I use my magic bag all the time. Same idea, but not too sure what they put in it, maybe flax seed. Totally packing mine in my hospital bag. So handy!
