Back to L&D for me...

Thank you all so much for the well wishes on my other post, it made me feel better. So last night I was feeling pretty bad still and not able to keep anything down. Then I started having HORRIBLE stomach pains, which I could not tell if they were contractions or stomach cramps from being sick. I went to L&D and they hooked me up to the monitors and I was having some contractions and my fever went up to 101. The doctors were worried that I might have had appendicitis or chorio (which is an infection of the placenta). Luckily after blood tests and an ultrasound on my appendix, it turns out I have Rota Virus not the flu. A lot of children get it but I guess pregnant women are also very likely to get it. So they loaded me up with fluids, terbutaline, and I just have to wait it out. I got to go home after 24hrs and am on bed rest for the next few weeks until I reach full term because I started to dialate (1-2 cm) thanks to the contractions. She told me it will take 7-10 days to get over it, but the first 3 are the worst. I am already starting to feeling better, so I am thankful for that. I have been so excited to read the progress everyone seems to be making and our new arrivals!

Wow....that’s crazy...I am glad you are feeling better. What a horrible ordeal. I hate being sick and being PG sure seems to make it that much harder. I hope your little one bakes a while longer.

Yes, what an ordeal. 7-10 day to pass...holy sheep!! You must be so miserable!! Take it easy, stay on bed rest, and just try to sleep as much as you can. Rest up!! Hope you are feeling better soon!!!

OMG, I'm so sorry. I've heard that roto-virus is a horrible one. I hope you are through the worst and feel much better very soon. So glad you went back to get checked out. Feel better soon. ((((Hugs))))
