Default BabyMoon?

Anybody taken a babymoon or going to take one?

DH mentioned that he'd like to just get away for a weekend or so and I was shocked with surprise. With work and the kids I had no idea he wanted to squeeze in one last vacation. I'm all for it but since it's kinda late in the game we can't go too far.

So any ideas? Where have you gone? What did you do? For how long?

I'm thinking prego massage, some nice hotel.. room service, luxury, relaxation. My mother in law mentioned a bed and breakfast in the country... Hmmmmm.

Wow,
What a fabulous idea, unfortunately, I am still working 40+ hours/week, and theres no way for me to do that, but I would definately not pass up the chance for a little pregnancy vacation. I hope you have fun, whatever you decide to do!

It would be fun to do something more than a night at home alone, with the kids at grandma's, but I don't see that happening. Although I think if you can, I say go for it.

AWWW....that sounds soooo awesome. I would try to find a nice B&B or hotel with a BIG TUB (that’s my thing....lol). And have a nice weekend away....a little room serverice and nice soak together, a massage and just enjoy each other. It does not even have to be that far away from home.....just somewhere that is away so it’s a bit more special

Have fun and keep us posted on what you decided!!!!

That would be fun! You should definitely try to go!

We probably won't. We've never left our ds with anyone overnight, or for more than 5-6 hours at a time really. Just not something we do. We've already worked it out so that dh can stay with ds at home at night while I'm in the hospital. My aunt will be staying with me at night.

If we did go somewhere we would probably take ds with us anyways, so then it wouldn't really be a babymoon then, lol.

Have fun!!

I've never heard of a babymoon... but it sounds like a great idea!! With DH gone during the week staying in a hotel up north for work, I doubt he would want to go anywhere... he misses our bed. My parents invited us to go to the casino with them on the 28th and stay the night and I'm trying to convince him to go but I don't think he will. My MIL would take DS so we could call that our babymoon! LOL Even if he doesn't go, I think I will just to get away!

We took a babymoon when we were pregnant with Kate. We flew to Palm Springs and just relaxed by the pool all day long. We also played a little golf, which was getting challenging with BOB (big old belly!)

Dh has already talked about going away for a weekend before this LO arrives. I think maybe we'll drive somewhere within a 3 hour range though since I am later in my pregnancy than I was last time (and we are running out of time!). But we will be taking Kate with us. I don't leave her much, especially overnight!

Last time we went to Napa Valley, CA and stayed in a beautiful resort. It was so much fun. We relaxed in natural mineral heated pools and took a train through the wine country. Then we went sightseeing in San Francisco. It was really, really fun. I doubt we will do that this time though, b/c we don't have our family in the same state as us, so we don't leave our dd w/anyone for long periods either (and never overnight). If you have the chance, I definitely think it is great fun and a wonderful bonding experience before baby arrives. Have fun and keep us posted if you go!!

This weekend we are going to Tahoe CA. My DH has spring break from teaching next week so we are going for about 4 days. I am excited! A few weekends ago we went to a little bed and breakfast in Pine, AZ and it was SOOO nice. I read an entire book and took a nap every afternoon. It was just for 2 days but it was a lot of fun. We are getting in all our little trips before our DD arrives! BUt we are going to 2 weddings out of town this summer and bringing her with us, so she is going to have 2 vacations before she is 6 months old.

We took one just a few weeks ago. We went to Tahoe and it was beautiful. We went with hubby's work, but he was only actually in meetings one day. The rest of the time we were treated to awesome dinners and fun stuff. This was the 1st time we had ever went anywhere overnight without the kids. We flew out on a Wed and flew home on Sunday. My parents kept them and they got tried of me calling to check in:-) The get away was so nice and I enjoyed a trip to the spa, lots of room service, some gambling, and shopping. However, I must warn you....I put on 5lbs on this trip. I treated myself a little too much!!! Too much late night ice cream, but hey we were on vacation!!! If you can get away I would say do it. We really missed the kids, but just having some time away made me feel refreshed.

We didn't do anything just DH and I, but we took the kiddos last month to a hotel for a few nights with a waterpark. We did a bit of shopping and site seeing too....we figured it would be the last time we'd go without baby and the kiddos loved it!!

I was supposed to go to Palm Springs for a few days over spring break, but things have gotten just a bit too chaotic around here. I am going to Palm Springs with the baby in July. It's my sister's bachorlette trip, although not your typical one Our mom is going, my sister's future Mother-in-Law is going (they are really close) and then my sister's maid of honor is bringing her 4-year old (she's a single mom as well). But I'm really looking forward to that.

We won't be doing anything fancy, but we did get a nice break over the weekend - The kids went to my parents' house for 2 days. We spent most of the time working on the house, though. Ah, well - things get done that way.
