Default Anybody Co-sleeping with their newborn?

I have a friend who gave birth about 2 weeks before me, her and her husband are co-sleeping with their newborn, same bed, in the middle, I am soo tempted to do this becuase of our sleep issues but I am also nervous about DH rolling on him, anyone co-sleep? How does it work for you? Do you use any barriers or anything?

i've been co-sleeping (not by choice. I have to if i ever want to get to sleep at night lol) Natalie starts out on my chest until she falls asleep deeply enough that I can move her next to me. I don't use a barrier or positioner or anything. I was worried about rolling on her at first, but it doesn't happen. I think i just don't sleep as deeply as I normally would when I know she's next to me.

We co slept part of the tie for the first few weeks, and we didn't use a barrier either I jut slept with her in the crook of my arm, so she was protected from DH and I really couldn't have rolled over with my arm in that position. It worked well and we were able to get 4-5 hours of sleep at a time!!

Aspen starts the night off in her crib but then by morning she is in our bed. I would probably have her in there full time, but my ds is still in our bed as well. We've co-slept with him since he was about 3 months old. I am a huge fan of co-sleeping and would love to do it with Aspen as well. But we are running out of room in our bed and they don't make anything bigger than our king size, lol. When I do put her in our bed, she lays in a sleep positioner.

Julian sleeps in the bed between me and SO, and we don't use any kind of barrier or anything. I sleep very light, so I wake up every time I move, so I'm not worried about squishing him, but SO worries sometimes that he might so gives him plenty of room. No problems have come up from it and we both end up getting more sleep. I think some of the things people warn you against are a bit overboard (like this sleeping thing and not to use baby powder....we all survived, right?)

Gideon starts off in his crib but end up in the bed with us by the end of the night. We dont use anything either. I was worried we would rollover on him at first but I think you just become more aware that theres a baby there.

yeah we have coslept with all of our kids and sometimes Kenz still comes into bed. Usually when they are first born I start with them in the bassinet next to me but they end up in bed when I nurse them.
