I just got back to work after my 2nd (12wk4d) appt. I LOVE my OB, she's the coolest! DH wasn't able to go to my first appt because he couldn't get out of work so he missed the first u/s so when TT (my OB) saw him there she yelled back out to Kelly (her nurse) to wheel the u/s machine back in so daddy could see. YAY! I was so excited because I wasn't supposed to get another one today.
Except I'd just gone to the bathroom so it was a little harder for her to get a clear picture. And baby was snoozing

so we didn't get to see him/her moving around or anything but you could see baby's perfect profile, spine and wonderful flickering heartbeat.
It's good that we did that first because it took her a while to find the heartbeat with the doppler and I would have begun to panic had we not just seen it a minute ago on u/s. Evidently I'm carrying really high because it was her last ditch effort by roaming around my upper belly that produced the beautiful sound we were all waiting for. It was in the 150s - she didn't measure exactly because my heartbeat was mixed in with it too.
She also had been in contact with the Perinatal clinic too that did all my cervical measurements last time and we're all in agreement (since I carried Clara with no incident) that we'd just do a couple measurements and call it good (instead of going in every 2 wks for an internal u/s). I'll go up there for my 18/19ish week BIG u/s and they'll do a baseline and then back at 22 or 24 for a follow up, if there is no change then I won't need to go back to them.
All in all a great appt! I'd scan the pictures in but you really can't see much, they're pretty grainy.
