Default 24 hours of cramping

I have had very mild menstrual cramps for the last 24 hrs. they are not painful really, they just feel like I have my period or are getting my period..... I called the dr. and are waiting for a call back. ANyone have any experience with this? No bleeding or anything just some pressure. I felt kinda bad for calling the dr. I did not know if I needed to.

drink lots of water... it should help. Maybe it is more from constipation? Sometimes those cramps can be hurtful too... and this is the time for it. Good luck... see what the doc says. you did the right thing by call ing him. But I bet it isnt anything too bad.,

I agree, until the doc calls back, drink lots of water. Could be bowel issues. I know I mix those up a lot with cramps.

Make sure you lay down and take it easy! Update us when you find anything out!

This is what I have been going through these last few weeks. My cramping can range from moderate like you are describing to incredibly bad (I almost went to the hospital last night due to how bad they got). I have been checked many times and for me everything is still normal it’s just my body is not handling all the changes very well. Plus this little one is head way down and is really pushing to get out so it’s making all my lower parts very tender and sore!!! If I stand for too long or walk any distance my cramping increases. The doctor told me as long as its not rhythmatic contractions and there is no blood or any major change in discharge to REST REST REST and not just sit but lay down when they are bad as the change in position does help take the pressure off and the cramps ease up a bit. AND yes drink lots of water….it truly does make a difference.

NEVER feel bad about calling the doctor.....it’s always better to be safe then sorry. He may want you to come in and check your cervix to make sure you are not dilating but I am sure things are still ok.....all your other symptoms sound good. Try not to worry and if you are defiantly go in and talk to you doctor.

I think it's good you called, too. If it's worrying you - it's always better to check in.
Hope you can rest & are feeling better soon.

I talked to the Dr. at about 3 and he said, mostly what you ladies are saying*! Thanks by the way!

He told me that unless there is an increase in serverity, they are able to be timed, or there is any blood or anything that all I can do is rest, he said not to be on my feet, stay in bed as much as possible for the next 24 hrs to give my body a chance to reregulate, and he also suggested that it could be how the baby is laying that is causing them. He told me that they would check me for dialation and check my cervical length at my appointment on Monday!

So I guess for now I will be relaxing with my feet up (and a big glass of water) luckily tonight is a great night for TV and my Dh will be home all evening!****

I'm glad to hear that you got to talk to the doctor and that you will be getting some rest! Hopefully you will feel better in the morning!

Oh, and don't ever feel bad for calling the doctor. OB's especially are used to being called with questions and concerns- at all hours even- and I'm sure that they would rather you call in with something that turns out to be no biggie then to have an issue go on for too long and then have to stop labor or tend to a preemie. You did the right thing by calling- good for you!

Awe thanks, I just never want to bug* anyone, with this being my first baby I feel like I might get concerned to quickly, but hey you never know, I am glad I called, and he was SUPER nice about everything so it makes me reassured that they are an open door!*

I am soooo happy you got to talk to your doc and got some peace of mind that is hugely important!!!!

I totally understand how you feel....I am the same way being a first time momma too. BUT I learned my lesson when I got in trouble for not going in sooner with my last UTI....LOL. I was worried I was going into see my doc soooo often that I waited instead of following my first instincts......which was very bad.....OOPS. Its sooo hard to balance the fear with what truly needs to be looked at.....so my motto now is better to ask and go in then to be sorry and get your self in trouble.

Plus I agree....OB's are use to new moms and know how stressful everything is so they really try to make you feel comfortable....the less stress we have the better and no question is silly....not asking it is!!!!!

REST REST REST....I hope you do not have the issue I have.....I am sure I will be cramping till the end....its been a few weeks and they have not gone away......I truly know if I have over done it as they get supper bad. Let your DH spoil ya a bit for the next while
