12 week apt(x-post)

Hi ladies, I had my 12 week appt today and all went well, this was my first official visit to the midwife. She works in a very busy office with 4 other obs. They did an ultrasound and the heartbeat was 170bpm and the baby did not want to stay still kept arching his/her back and trying to move away when they were trying to get the heartrate it was very cute. So neat to see our baby moving around like that.

They did bw to check for rubella, HIV, cystic fibrosis, and blood type. The midwife said they don't call with the results unless something is wrong other than that she let you know at your next appt and they did a pap as well. I go back December 3rd and will be 16 weeks then. The midwife is wanting to change my edd to May 22 but I told her I am sticking with the 20th lol.

She encourages getting the reg flu and h1n1 vaccine I told her I needed time to think it over and would let her know at the next appt. We choose not to do any first trimester screenings and just have the normal 20 week scan to make sure everything looks good. I have to see two other drs in the practice since they will be around during delivery in case of an emergency. Oh and the big u/s will be between 18-20 weeks. Sorry this is so long.
