An urgent Prayer Request!! Very, very urgent..............
An urgent Prayer Request!! Very, very urgent..............
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sorry to pop in and spring this on ya Gals, but in between T-storms and farm work.............. :: sigh :: I did post this on P&B:everything pregnancy Prayer Request board, December 2001, Snowville and Trucking Angel's Place. We need to get as many prayers as we can, please, please pass this along. Thanx in advance, Kiddos! We don't have much time
I was talking with a friend the other day and she told me about her son. Now, I have to touch on his history here...... When my friend was pregnant, they weren't sure he would make it to term, let alone make it through the birth. Then, after he was born, they didn't give him past his first birthday. When he made that, they said he wouldn't make it past 5 or 6 years old. He has made it to and past those b.days. Not without some problems, but he has made it and fairly healthy at that.
Okay, back to a week ago ( 28MAY04 ) . My friend told me that she had taken Luke, his name, to the hospital in Denver. She said that he had become paralyized (sp) on the left side. Something like a stroke, but the Doctors weren't sure. So he had a ton of tests done and she was still waiting on the results.
I had seen his sister, Ashley, at the Car Show at the park this last Saturday ( 05JUN04 ), but forgot to ask how Luke was doing....if they had found out anything new. My oldest DS, Adam, he goes to school with her ( she will be a Senior and Adam will be a Junior ), said that he talked to his friend Blaine, who is a neighboor ( and has a slight crush on Ashley ), had talked to her about Luke. The news is not good........ Seems that he has a tumor, I don't know if it is the tumor he already has which his Mom said the Dr.'s told her that it was okay, or if it is a new tumor, but anyway this is a nasty tumor and the Doctors aren't giving him past a month.
Now, I'm not giving up on him, Luke has beat the odds before, but I'm sure sending him and his family tons of ers and tons of and tons of
He is a good kid and hasn't let lifes challenges get him down
Please send him all the thoughts and prayers you can. If anyone would like to send him a card, let me know & I'll ask Dee if it's okay for him to recive cards from y'all.
His name, again, is Luke. His Dad and Mom are Tom and Dee
And his sister is Ashley.
I KNOW prayer CAN work!! It did for me!! Thanks in advance!
Update from 14JUN04:
I'm not sure where the tumor is, I hate to call and pepper Dee with those kind of questions.
I forgot to add that Luke is 11 or 12, can't remember when his B.day is exactly But he will be 7th grade this year. I did talk to the ladies at my Lodge meeting last night. And there are some extra prayers going out there. One of my Lodge gals is worried cause her Grandson, who is about 7, has cancer, by his lungs, and they are talking about doing surgery and then starting radiation (sp), something that she had heard they had done with Luke. She also heard that the Dr.'s seem to think that that caused the new tumor, surgery followed by radiation. So she is scared about her grandson. I did point out to her that Ian started out healthy, unlike Luke............................ :: mega, huge sigh :: Why does it seem like so many kids have cancer right now?
Anyhoo, I'll try to keep y'all updated as I hear things.
Update from 14JUN04:
Okie, here is a little update. This is what I have as of this morning..............
It is a new and unoperable tumor. They, the Doctors, think that it happened 9 years ago when Luke had an X-Ray treatment, then deemed life-saving, in a California hospital.
Sue, the 4-H leader for Adam's club, got a letter from Mrs. Z., the Principal for the grade school at Hemingford. Luke and Jake, Sue's 8th. child and 3rd. son ( she has 9 kids ), are both in the same grade and real good Buds. The letter was sent to all the students in 6th. grade last school year, and their Parents/Guardians. Sue told me that it was explained and the medical terms/names were in it. She was hoping to call Dee sometime this week. She'll update me when she has more news.
Thanx for all the prayers and thoughts, everyone. We still have a ways to go, though. I guess that Lukes Dad, Tom, is taking it pretty hard and I can't blame him for that.
It's hard to enjoy other kids having a fun vacation when s kid I know is so sick. I hate seeing kids sick. anyhoo, enough of my vent. I'll update as soon as I know more.
Keep up the prayers and thoughts!!
Nancy S.
