I just found out yesterday that my best friends mom, who's 16w preg. has regressed to a stage 4 in her fight with cancer.
Let me give you a little information about her so that you know whats up. She was diagnosed with cancer about 8 or 9 months ago. Its a very rare cancer that only three people a year are diagnosed with around the world. They first found it in the muscle of her leg and they removed it and a large portion of the surrounding muscle, just to be sure. They went back a month or so later and took a biopsy to make sure they got all of it and it came back that they had, they gave her radiation treatment just to be on the safe side. Then a month or so after that they found it in her groin, which they easily removed that, but made her take a round of kemotherapy.
Her doctors and her thought that they were in the clear by the time that she found out that she was pregnant, but now they found a new cluster and its in one of her lymph nodes... if you know anything about cancer, you know that her chances of living are pretty slim now that its in her lymph nodes. They say that she's in Stage 4 because it spread farther than just a little bit, and now that its in her lymph nodes anytime she gets swollen lymph nodes they have to remove the lymph node. I dont know what to do but pray that she and the baby are going to be alright. I know that there's nothing that they can do about the cancer while preg... but I still believe in the power of prayer and how it can be very healing.
I was just lurking and saw this. but your friends mom is in my prayers. I too believe prayer can do anything. Her and the baby will be in my prayers. Make sure you put an update too so we know how things are going.
There is nothing to big for God! I will join you in prayer and in faith in believing that this cancer will go away and mom and baby will continue on in a healthy and normal life! Claim victory in Jesus name!!! Keep us informed of the miracle that is going to transpire!!! In Jesus name!
I will keep her in my prayers. Nothing is too challenging for God. He can perform miracles!
Keep us in touch when you know more!

Mitchell and Kendall born too soon on August 25, 2006.
August William or Ashton Claire arriving October 14, 2008.
The day you deliver, outside will be cloudy. Your baby will arrive in wee hours of the morning .
After a labor lasting approximately 22 hours, your child, a girl, will be born. Your baby will weigh about 8 pounds, 7 ounces, and will be 21 inches long. This child will have blue eyes and a little patch of brown hair.
I will keep your friend in my thoughts and prayers. Please have her look into the Macrobiotic Diet. It is a healing diet and can give her hope even in late stages of cancer! She'll need to avoid sugar, meat and dairy 100% so that the cancer can't continue to grow and spread.
I will keep your friend, her baby, her family and you in my thoughts and prayers, and I have also passed it on to some of my own friends and family for even more prayers (hope you don't mind)... Please keep us posted on her progress
I am so sick to hear this...but God is bigger than cancer and I will keep her in my prayers
I can't imagine what is going through her head. God is good and will use this for awesome things
well, the pg went well, she did have to have a node removed during the pg. She was able to deliver a beautiful baby girl at 37weeks. She will have her 2nd birthday on July 18th, 2007. The cancer is still in her lymph nodes but has not progressed much farther that we know of so far. She is actually doing quite well and I think that a lot of it has to do with the overwhelming amount of prayers that have been sent her way. she sees her oncologist regularly to make sure that things have not progressed further.
I just wanted to let you know having cancer in your lymth nodes is not a death sentence. While not great, it still does not mean death. My husband is almost a 3 year cancer survivior who's lympth nodes had be "infected" by cancer.
What a blessing! Thank you for the update...I saw this really late...but had to find out what happened.
As Jilleighn noted, lymphoma can be beat. My father was diagnosed with it 26 years ago...and it never returned. They immediately removed his spleen to stop the spread - gave him chemo and radiation and removed the infected nodes in his chest (really couldn't take all of them as many were in his neck)...
He was 52 then...he is 78 now! Best of luck to her and so glad the baby was born healthy!
