Ok... I finally made that appt and the dr sent me in for the u/s today and I'm not sure what to think. They saw at least one good size cyst and multiple others. The u/s tech was saying that they are going to need to due something about it. She told me what type of cyst the big one was but I forgot already. It ws more painful then any other u//s I have ever had and as you IVFers know we have ltos of them. I spent half the u/s crying becasue the pain was so bad.

Is this something that my regular doc should take care of or is this something that I should ask her to refer me to the RE who did my ivf? I would feel better if the RE was the one who took care of it since he knows me and my body that and we plan on doing an FET in about a year or so.

Plus after those of you that have lo did your endo get better after?

IF you had stage 4 did you have to have a lap and it cleaned out more then once?

And how long between?

I just had it done in Jan of 06. The u/s tech was saying that they may need to take that overy but at this point I really don't care. I don't need it. We have 8 embries frozen. Besides after we have our next it will be that last and I just want to have everything taken out.

Oh dear you poor thing!! I would ask for a referal to your RE - they specialise in these things and I wouldnt want to get any old doc to do it. I have stage III so mine isnt as bad. I do know though that after my lap things were alot better. So far I have only had too have one lap - the pain for me lasts only a day or 2 per cycle so I think I am very lucky. I feel sorry for you ladies that get it for the majority of the month, I couldnt imagine functioning with that!!! I hope your Dr gets things sorted for you soon xx

I would ask for a referral to the RE also, even though my OB did my first Laparotomy to clean out my endo. I have not really had too much pain since mine in 04 as far as endo.
I did however develop a cyst after my IVF cycle and it got infected so I did have to have my tubes and ovary out. I'm sorry you are in pain. and I hope you see your RE who can sort it out.

I would go to an RE too. Sorry about the cyst..is it an Endometrioma or functional ovarian cyst? Those are the only ones are know of...

2006 has been awhile..you might want to have another lap done after you next egg retrieval...I know that clomid can be tough on endo.

Jenni-I wanted to add that my cyst was a functional cyst, and I went on BCP's to see if it would go away, but it didn't. I was in a lot of pain, and never had these cysts before. I actually had another cyst on my only ovary in Sept again, but I went on bcp's and told the RE I want watched close (so I went in for a u/s once a week)and it went away in three weeks. I know my case is very rare, but just wanted you to know what happened to me. Please keep us updated if you see the RE.

I really don't know what type of cyst it is yet. I will know more on thursday. I hope.

Kaylee - I actually will never have to have another egg retrevial. We currently have 8 embries frozen. And if we don't have another by then then it is time to stop.

Janay - I have been on bcp since 6 wks pp. They might change what I'm on but I wa having problems on the ones w/ the high estrogen levels. Right now I am on Ortho tricylen (sp?).

OK... the verdict is in. The cyst appears to be complex (prob an endo cyst). I have been referred to the RE. I have a call into them to see if they do that type of stuff. My dr seemed to think that he only does IVF now. The dr said that the cyst can not be drained. . She was goingot make me wait a month ans re- u/s it but I was like listen lady I have been hurting now for almost 2 months. I really don't think that it is going ot go away. Now I am hoping that I can have the surgery to have it removed while my dh is home on R&R. If it doesn't happen then I don't know when I will have someone around to help me.
