So my ex is giving me a hard time about Maddie being around his girlfriend whom he is on again, off again with. It has never been a steady, consistent relationship. I told him that when their son was born I would let Maddie go to his sister's house to meet the baby. The girlfriend lost her three older childrent to the Dept. of Social Services and has only regained custody one of since then. I will not let Maddie be around the girlfriend because I do not know why she lost her children. For all I know she beat them. I have sole custody, but he is giving me a hard time and I just can't seem to get him to understand why I feel the way I do. If he wants to tell me why she lost her kids I can make an informed decision on the matter, but if he refuses to tell me (which he does) then how can I possibly put my child in danger? On top of the fact that they live in a high crime area (and when I say they, I mean the days she doesnt kick him out, which is not often) and what was a drug house.
Any advice on how to handle this?
