Default Fireworks

Did anyone else take the babies to the fireworks and not have them even flinch?

Jax watched them but didn't jump or anything at the sound... I'm sitting here worried and I majored in Deafness Rehab in college and I can't tell if my baby can hear.

I'm just hoping that he is too young to be aware that he should be afraid or something and I'm trying not to think that something is wrong. But I'm still calling into the ped tomorrow AM or Mon AM to get in and check his hearing.

Am I just paranoid and alone or did the other babies react the same way?
My oldest hates the loud noises...

Madi didn't really jump. I mean she didn't sleep through it but she didn't scream. She just layed there in my BIL's arms like nothing was going on. I'm sure his hearing is alright He prolly just wasn't bothered by it

When we went last week for the first time.. Keighan didn't FLINCH!!! He just sat there and stared at them and we were practically under them when they went off.. It was awesome!!
Then last night he did the same thing.. We were at our friends and all of our spouses let them off.. He did great.. Layed on my lap and watched and didn't move a bit..
He passed the hearing test they did before he left the hospital at birth (not sure what that entails) and also responds to our voices so I know he's fine!!

I say no worries.. Babies have no clue. Bigger kiddos freak!! Cuz they know what it is.. In fact, a 3 year old wouldn't come outside of the house cuz he was so scared..

I'm not sure...Kade was already asleep and inside. Does he ever get startled by a loud noise or anything? Try standing beside him and calling his name.

We didn't take the kids to any fireworks this year but I did take them to a parade yesterday. I noticed that when they fired the muskets directly in front of us that Brendan just blinked (like a flinch). I think he's just used to all sorts of racket from Sarah and William.

Corbin fell asleep while we were watching the fireworks so they didn't bother him a bit!

I've calmed down a bit today... tried startling him all day. Poor baby thinks Mommie is out to scare him

I realize what I thought was right... babies don't know to be scared yet, like the older kids.

Yes we had the hearing test at the hospital. He failed his left ear 8 hours after birth but passed it the next day. They said there was fluid still in his ear. Still something like that is in the back of my mind.

I will wait until his 6month apt unless something else happens that makes we worry again. He did jump when DH sneezed tonight so I guess we're good.
Thanks for the reassurance ladies
