(xpost because I'm trying to get both of my boards moving :))

I think everyone here has older kids... so how does this preg stack up?

I handle pregnancy well, I have every time, though I tend to be more sore/achy with each one... of course that could also be because I've taken up extreme gardening lol Monday I was outside digging.. yes, with a full size shovel.. and de-sodding a 6x12 foot (yeah.. not inches...) patch for a vegetable garden I want to start... lol second trimester feels great, huh? I never knew sod was so heavy when you ripped it off and rolled it up... man!

Okay, back on topic... this pregnancy is much like DS's as far as symptoms go.. main culprits are HORRIBLE acne (I mean hide inside bad) and I'm carrying low like I did with him so I am already having that sharp cervix pain from baby and my hips feel like they aren't connected to anything.. and that joint between your hips and spine is killing me (the name escapes me right now). No cravings to speak of.

And even though the symptoms are the same, everything else is crazy different.. I have no movement like I did with the others.. I'm just now getting consistent jabs and rolls, but it's still nothing to go days in between (thank goodness I have my doppler!) I don't have a real belly yet, just all fluff that keep growing.. and my uterus, even though I can feel my fundus and it counts as normal range, still just seems tiny to me for being 20 weeks compared to my other kids. I was worried this baby was going to be small because I am still nursing I was warned to watch my nutrition, but according to u/s he is a day ahead of schedule.

So how are you ladies??

I woke up this morning having mild contractions every 5 min or so that didn't die down after getting up like they had been. I already had an appt scheduled so I went and just told him that I had been contracting but that they were short (only 30 sec or so) and not painful, more like uncomfortable. He checked me to see what was going on bc I wasn't sure if I should call my mom to be "on call" to come watch the kids. I am only 1cm and 60% effaced but baby's head is engaged, so anytime really. Since then the contractions are sporadic and not nearly as often as earlier, so I think my body is just starting to gear up but I don't think it will be today..

Went for my first doctors visit and the nurse used a Doppler on me to hear the baby's heartbeat,...

Went for my first doctors visit and the nurse used a Doppler on me to hear the baby's heartbeat, after trying for almost 5 min. she said she was unable to find a heartbeat, but it might not mean anything. Needless to say when she walked out of the room I started bawling my eyes out. The doctor checked everything else and said everything seemed fine but she wanted me to go get an ultrasound to try and find a heartbeat.

So after having to wait for an hour to be fit in to ultrasounds schedule, the ultrasound saw baby moving and said, "Well baby is moving so I would say there is definitely a heartbeat." Turned out everything was fine I got to hear my baby's heartbeat and watch him or her move around. Apparently my little one is a trickster! :-) Hearing your baby's heartbeat for the first time is the most wonderful, mind-easing sound in the universe. I can't imagine how horrible it is for the mothers who don't get to hear it. End of story I don't know why they do Dopplers on women who are just 10 weeks and make them scared for no reason.

Praying for good health for all of you ladies and your babies.

Well this will be baby #9 for us. This will also be the first baby who gets to share a birth month with a sibling. The first 8 all got to be special and have their own birth month. We WERE planning on waiting until June or July so baby could have their own birth month but I guess they wanted to come earlier than we wanted. :teehee

So I am 36, will be 37 when baby gets here. My first was a scheduled c/s, second was a hospital VBAC with an epidural, #3 a home water birth, #4 unassisted home birth, and #5-#8 were all unassisted home waterbirths.

I was thinking of going unassisted this time for the whole pregnancy like without shadow OB care or what not, and baby baby be a surprise. But hubby is saying he wants to know the baby's gender this time. So we'll probably do minor shadow care to get a gender scan.

We'll still be planning an unassisted home water birth though.

I still can't believe I am pregnant again. I've taken 2 tests. Both positive though, so it looks like a done deal at the moment! :)

I just had to share this picture of my Finn with his friend from a little park trip yesterday. He LOVES her so much :) and she says "I wuv you, too, Finny Foo Foo" :heart

anywho, I snapped this pic when they sat down to look at some flowers. (I had my crate there because I was trying to get some 5yr portraits of Evangeline, but she was off playing).

There were sooo many ways to go with this picture, but I opted for a sunset haze, nice and warm.

The SOOC is uploaded to my Flickr, too, if anyone wants to play.
I'd love to see some different edits of this...
