My First Blog Ever!

yeah2.gif Well, Hello to everyone and Happy Valentines Day! I have never Blogged before and actually thought for the longest time it was for the younger folk but this old dinosaur is stepping out of her cave into the world and throwing caution to the wind!
I have recently done a lot of things I would never have thought were my cup of tea, writing on message boards, participating in debates about politics and even (gasp) listioning to music on a ipod! It has only taken me 51 years to find the internet as an outlet, I guess some folks never find it.
I love alternative music but also listen to country, folk, rock n' roll, jazz and even a little classical thrown in. As a result you can imagine my dh and I have quite a large (1300 or so) collection of CD's. We have been putting them on our ipod which is another thing that has brought us recently out of the stone age. (yes, we still have only a "land line". No cell phone for us). The ipod was given to my husband as a gift from his step-daughters (previous marriage, doesn't most everybody have at least one now days?) and when he first started putting music on it I was content to let him do it.
Then one day we were in the car and a song I particularly like was on the radio and I said to the dh " do we have this?" (with 1300 I can't keep em' straight, how he does is beyond me). He says "Yeah". "Great, did you put it on the ipod?" And he astounds me by saying "No, why would I?" Duh, because it's a good song, what did he think?!?
That was when I knew I had to take matters into my own hands and go back through all the CD's he had gone through and double check to see if he had missed any good songs. He had missed quite a few, but I rectified the situation. I wound up putting about another 1000 songs in our itunes library all together but some of that was country and he really had not put any country on at all yet. I'm sure I put more country on then he would have but it was needed. He keeps teasing me that he is losing me to my country roots (I'm originally from Wyoming). I assure him I have a rock n' roll soul that just likes to hear a little country now and then. My Daughter-in-law, who I borrowed a lot of the country CD's from was thrilled to know that I would have some country for her to listen to.
On Pattie's Modern list on our ipod I now have 470 songs (or there abouts) and more are being added all the time. It's a day and a half worth of music. Great to put on shuffle and just let go. Its just like the microwave, didn't need it until I got it, now can't think what it would be like with out it. I love the ipod.
Well I have dragged on long enough for today, I am sure you all have far more interesting things to get to like looking for points and writing your own blogs.
Have a great day and Stay Warm! yeah2.gif
