Controlling my portions

This is Day 2 of watching what I eat.
I think I am doing OK. Right now I am trying to focus on small things.
1. Eat smaller portions
2. Less carbs, but I'm not cutting them out completely.
3. Be more active (walk more)
4. Drink more water
Those all sound very reasonable. I do not want to push myself too hard too fast. I also joined the SELF 2008 challenge which I will be doing with two friends from work. And next week I will start going to the Gym at work. I'm excited about this, I really need to shed a few pounds and tone, tone, tone.

Hi. New to the forums. Just thought I'd say, good luck on your new regime. Looks like your starting out the right way - don't deprive yourself of what you want - portion control is the key to losing weight - and then maintaining the weight once you've reached it. May I also suggest that you take up weight training. Not to excess, just light weights. Keeping your arms toned will prevent baggy underarms as you age, and keeping your shoulders strong will help your back and breasts when you get older, as well. And although muscle weighs more than fat...it looks alot better....
