How to get more blog traffic

I just wanted to stop in and share a little thing I have discovered about how to get more hits to your blog. There's an easy little thing you can do to introduce yourself to other people and have them visit your blog. This is especially nice if you're running ads on your blog you'll want to have as many people coming through as you can get- or maybe you're just an exhibitionist, whatever floats your boat. If you want more blog hits, here's a great way to get started...

I've been blogging at my mommy blog for quite some time now, and today I checked in to analyze my stats. I see a few coming from posts I've made here and there, a few coming from other sites that have linked to me- but an overwhelming number of hits that I get to my blog that aren't from subscribers are from comments I've left on other people's posts.

So be sure to leave comments on other people's blogs as often as you can. You don't have to comment here, with me. I'm OK- but stick with blogs that are in your content area (which should just be your interests if you're blogging from the heart. If you're trying to focus your blog on... education or the environment, or adoption then you'll want to stay with sites like that. Leave comments, participate in the discussions, offer more information, complement the writer, ask questions- just be an active blog reader- that should help.
